when i was considerably younger the rangers were in town for a series and my parents took me and my younger sister to the game. we stayed afterwards collecting cups (*like every kid does) and asking for autographs. well all the pitchers come out of the bullpen after the game and some guy looks at my sister and nods and throws her a baseball. it was nolan ryan, he didnt start that night but he was in the bullpen and at kauffman stadium there is no access to the visitors locker room from the bullpen so they walk the field.
i was mad so i threw down my bat and charged the mound. next thing i knew i was in a headlock getting pummeled by nolan ryan, but he still gave an autograph later on.

as a fan, the success the royals organization has already enjoyed this year is astounding considering what has been previous years and what was expected.
i hope they can finish the job and make the playoffs.

me too, im a hometown kc boy, ive seen some crappy teams over the years, but that 18 inning game several years ago was on my bday so that was really cool
