We finally get our driveway poured. And now the driveway and the garage floor dont evenly line up. There is about an inch gap between the two of them. So 1 we will always have a mini speed bump getting into the garage and 2 if we ever go to sell the house, it looks like we have a sinking problem. Plus it looks gay because the brick on the house now looks crooked. So what would you do? Make them come and jack hammer it all out and re due it OR pay for the shitty job and live with it. I am so pissed. I just told wootoom he hasnt seen it yet, I am calling the builder and telling him to redue it all. But wanted to know what you would all do too.

I dont know anything about the driveway concrete stuff
but i think that post was about the prettiest post ive ever seeen:)

you have to say shit like..... look we have paid you fair more than you deserve, and you guys make a half ass job of it. what you call yourself pros ? fuck sake , im not happy i want it sorted , and sorted soon.

My mom just had a house built. The people who poured the driveway proceeded to drive heavy machinery over it and scratched it to shit. She's making them redo it.

If I were you I'd look for another contractor, and have the original pay for the cost.

You've got to redo it. You are paying them for a desired result, not for this bullshit.

easy one.

dont pay for anything u dont want.

u paid for a job and they didnt mee their end of their bargain so fuckem,

redo redo

thats a bit harsh,,... pay and make em do it

Why is that harsh?? I ain't paying for a less then desired result. They can wait to get paid once they complete the job correctly.

i think he thought u meant make them do it correctly and for free

Take a pic of the shitty job. They might've left a space between the two materials for a specific reason depending on how big the space is.

i think the problem is one is higher than the other

there has to be a gap its called a freeze joint , but if its big enough you can feel it in the car then its a problem

Yeah, plus if there's not even a filler strip then that could be a big problem. An inch space sounds like too much. Wootoom will be pissed I'd say.

Definately have them come back and redo it! Don't let the thought of them getting mad deter you from calling them on shitty work. You paid to have the job done right and the way YOU like it! Hold 'em to it!!

an inch wouldnt be to big , if they are pretty close to be an even transition from the garage to the driveway

Contractors can be so fucking stupid. All that time they spent doing a shitty job and now they have to do it over. Serves em right.

I agree. There are too many of them that realize they did a shitty job and just assume that the customer is a patsy and won't throw a stink over it.
Sadly that's too true of too many customers. They just roll over and take it up the tailpipe, reinforcing what the shitty contractor already suspected.

C'mon Woot do it yourself! seriously, that shit is easy.

can we get a pic. because your driveway is not supposed to be even with your garage floor. there should be a breakpoint between the two also.

i would ask them if they left the gap for expansion purposes, i bet they did

A gap is one thing but an inch difference in elevation just ain't right!

elevation? different story, i thought she meant the garage slab didn't joint tight to the driveway...if the ladder is true, proly cause of the canadian freeze, gap keeps it from cracking, obiviously

I take back my harsh comment towards the contractors now

OMYGOSH No you guys. It is about an inch. Wootoom just wants it to be done. For real this needs to be fixed. We are spending a big chunk of change on this and I for one think it should be done the right way.

hmmm. Do you guys think I mean a gap from the driveway to the garage floor? If so, No. I mean an inch drop from the garage to the driveway.

I wouldn't want my driveway looking like that!

man Hotzie its a 1/2 an inch at the most

Thats why she thinks its an inch. Woot only has a 2 inch cawk, but he told daisy it is 4 inches. So, her scale is all fucked up.

Wait a minute aren't you crazy Canadians on the Metric System?

Should've put pavers in, then this wouldn't have happened. Tear up the concrete and replace with pavers.
