Karma, Bombs & Flames and us newbies

CO B-man

New member
Sorry did not see a place for this question. What is up with Karma Points, Bombs & Flames? It appears to me their are a few regulars here that are the "Cyber sorcerists" who can dish this stuff out?

Also, how many posts does someone need to post before all you regulars acknowledge that someone is trying to get to know you all so they can learn from you experience? Does it help to give our educational background so you know we are not idiots ( I have a Bach. Science degree engineering)? Do I need to post a picture to show that I am not a complete beginner to bodybuilding (I will)? Do we need to have as much knowledge as you all do before we ask a question (I dont... yet) ? Because, if so why would someone new to steroids and on the learning end even be here in the first place? I would already know what you all do if that were the case? Is it that some of the regulars are here to just show all the others they already have tons of experience and prove all that they already know? You dont need a discussion forum to learn anything but it does expedite things.

I am far from trying to stir anything up here but seems like a culture of regulars that does not want to hear any questions from newbies that already do not know as much as them. Why would any newbie want to come in here and pay for a membership and get all these flames and bombs and whatever or just plain ol not have your question acknowledged

So let me ask fo myself any any other newbie. What does anyone want to know about someone new when we are intrducing ourselves to be accepted in the circle of knowledge?

A new person has to establish themselves here. I learned this the hard way. You rarely walk in with a resume that means anything. The only exceptions are people with verified real pictures that show an outstanding physique and/or you are a "name."

How to establish yourself?
- Read all the stickies so you don't make gross errors. There are reasonable procedures here. Did you?
- Read and listen a lot so you begin to understand the personalities and their knowledge and experience.
- Be humble and do not argue. Park your ego at the door. Use manners. Laugh.
- Be prepared to put in time ... daily, weekly .... Takes about a year.
- Learn about karma. Give it to those who contribute. Add a complementry note. Give it as a Thank You.
- Contribute real life experience and fact based opinions. You'll earn K.
- Do not bomb or give red (the opposite of green k) until you are respected. Even then ... Use the Ignore first.
- Consider being a Plat. It is a huge arguement over whether you need to do this. I say Yes. Others with high rep say No.
- Buy the ebooks. They will increase your knowledge base.

Always remember that this is not a chat room type site. It is run like a service business. Most here are adults with knowledge, responsibilities, real life experiences. They may be higher educated, better built, more knowlegable, older and earn more than you ... Or not.

Relax and have some fun.

hopefully it takes way less than a year.

think everything through before you post

...but there's no promise you wont get bombed. stay out of chat & conversation forum they'll bomb you just because they can and it's more fun than jerking off for them.

DAMN good post bro should be made into a sticky

Respect is earned through your contributions. Familiarity is also a plus so post your thoughts often.

I have lobbied for a long time to stop red karma giving. It's wrong on so many levels and not the type of expression this board was built on. The bombs I suppose are a necessity for people coming to break the rules when the moderators aren't around. I don't believe in them otherwise.

I wouldn't get too caught up in karma. That's kind of the "game-like" side of the Anabolic Board. It's more for the Chat people.

Thats what im talkin about. Damn good post.

On a related note, ive gotten my only red Karma last week from some prick who "just needed to spread a lil Karma around" :worried:

So weak hehehe.

LOL. I hear ya bro. I know what you mean but we're not all bad here. There are alot of good knowledgeable bros hear willing to help. It's like any other board here as far as alot of times newbs will ask the same question over and over that's not nec. if they would read the sticky's at the top. So naturally some people take great pleasure in ridiculing them to the fullest I guess to make themselves feel big and/or important. There's a ton of good info. hear to pull from. Not to mention alot of traffic where you should be able to get several respones quickly. In time, you may want to consider going Plat. b/c of the search function. To me it's worth it. BTW, welcome bro. Hope you hang around long enough to see that they're are some good bros here willing to help.

For instant board cred, post nude pics of your old lady and I promise not to flame your geeky engineering degree or pee wee herman physique.

And to answer your Q about newbs, and why they would want to be a member if they weren't here to learn, allow me to use the same analogy I used the other day. If you joined a Master Of Physics Msg Board, and your first few post were like "What does A squared + B squared = C squared mean? and what is it used for?" I doubt anyone there would take you seriously. Joining EF without knowing the basics of training, diet, and AAS, and starting threads like: "Hi, I'm Peter Pencilneck. I'm 6 ft tall and 115 lbs in my tightey whiteys. I workout 2-3x a week, but only when I'm not binging on crack and eating Toxic Bell. I've worked out on my Soloflex at home as well as doing Tae Bo. Since I think I'm ready to win the Mr Olympia now: "What steeeeroid pillz can I take to get my arms big, but not too big? Needles scare me so I was thinking of running dbol only-3 - 4 wks and adding pop tarts to my diet soon"

In short, this type of crap will not illicit the kind of response you're hoping for.
