you can't really compare NY with any city in the world period. It is the center of everything so being commercialized is just part of that. Boston is great too, I've actually been there and love that city. Only drawback to boston is the same as chicago, it gets colder than NY which is about all I could deal with.

I ditch the tomatoes.
My main gripe with New York is that there's too many fucking people. You can't walk without being stuck behind some dumb shits walking too slow.
That and its dirty.

Biggest city there is, but manhattan is quite small.
how clean cities like philly and boston were things i first noticed. They are also alot of safer too. That's NY for you though, you never really feel totally safe most anywhere you are.
So many people of every ethnic backround everywhere. That's party the charm, it's not for everyone. Growing up here you just get used to it so it feels like home. That's why NYers have that unique attitude as well.
