I'm going to keep the details as short as possible:
OK, a girls is raped and murdered. Fingers start getting pointed, 6 initial supects are taken in for interrogation. The interrogations are so mentally rough, that each suspect eventually gives in and tells the interrogators what they want to hear just so the mental torture and aggravation will end. They then tape the confessions, all of which were totally inconsistent with the crimescene. They also take DNA samples of everyone to match up anything found at the scene of the crime, and not one of the suspects' DNA matched. They also take lie detector tests in which they all pass. They all eventually retract their confesions and admit they have nothing to do with it..
Then a woman gets a nasty letter from some guy in jail , saying this and that and how if he doesn't get nude pics of her, that she's going to end up dead just like the girl who these guys are being accused of raping and killing! here we now have a confession!
turns out the guy is in prison for raping a 14 year old chick 11 days after he raped that girl.
Now get this....His DNA matched up, his hair samples, skin samples from under the nails and everything matched up. He gets convicted with 2 life sentences, and admits no one else had anything to do with the murder.
now, here's the kicker....
Two of the other people that confessed and gave in to the interrogators are in jail for life. One has a bouble life sentence, and the other a single life sentence with no chance for paroll. The reason is because they took too long to say they didn't really do it. the judge didn't care, the judge didn't allow the letter from the actual killer into evidence, and even though there was no goddamn physical evidence at all linking any of these people to the crime scene, they passed lie detectors, their stories about what they said happened at the crimescene don't even match up at all with what really happened, the jury still found them guilty because they find it hard to believe that anyone would confess to a crime this severe.
All this evidence, and 2 innocent people are locked up for life because of WHAT THE JURY FELT....A jury that totally overlooked all this evidence laid out before them.
What the fuck would you do if you had interrogators going crazy on you for 10 hours , mentally breaking you down, and you said you did it just to end it all already, because they say that they KNOW you did it and you better co-operate and you'll get off easy and if you don't you're going to be put to death. What would you doif that happened, and then you finally came out and told the truth that you really didn't do it, but the courts say too bad, EVEN THOUGH they found the real killer and there's no evidence linking you to the crime scene at all?
Holy fuck man the lord loves a hangin' let me tell you.
Fuck the U.S. justice system.
