I must say that RyanH your wrong. The NRA does not condone such things as selling guns to criminals and kids. That is such a liberal view that you have lost focus of the issue.

I will not give up my right to bear arms because of children. Children have no legal rights, technically because their rights have been held by the courts till they reach the age of 18.

Otherwise they can talk and chew gum, but that is all.

They do have the right to not be beaten up by either parent, but after that if the kid gives lip service to either parent, I would send them to the court for a education and let them know who is in control.

Kids have to much control nowadays and this is why they get away with so much shit it is unbelievable. Get the shrinks out of the schools, and let punishment fit their behavior problems.

If they don't like it, tough. If I had a kid giving me too much trouble I would send him or her to a military school and let them suffer as much as possible. And when they reach the age of 18, they had better wise up or I would not leave them a dime in my will.

That should take care of their attitude.

I am starting to give up on ever being to convince the ignorant, though. People seem to feel better just turning over their welfare to the Government, and then not even holding their elected officials accountable to any kind of standards of decency.
It's disheartening to be constantly 'kicking against the pricks.'
I'm starting to feel that the best I can do is just educate myself and my children so that they will not grow into mewling babies sucking the government's teat.

Would you just idly stand there and watch your people being slaughtered when just 10 years earlier the government in power was considered a panacea for the entire country of Germany and could do no wrong? THe US is not immune to this..all govenments are corrupt

I'm sorry but the Utopian society that you strive for would be nice, but you fail to take into account human nature..not everybody has your compassion, intelligence, and moral compass. RyanH wouldn't do anything because he knows that killing in self defense is wrong. There are many other ways to resolve problems besides violence. I'm sure he would have requested an audience with Hitler to try and discuss their problems like civilized adults, and if that failed, he'd simply wait for the Americans to come help.

RyanH, do you realize that the sole purpose of the disarmament of the people was so that they could not oppose the tyranical government? Duh? Do you have any idea how long the U.S.A would remain the U.S.A. (as opposed to the U.S.S.A.) if the government succeeded in taking each and every gun out of the hands of responsible citizens?

That's exactly what I've done, I've stereotyped the NRA appropriately: they do endorse guns being sold to everyone, including criminals and children. Publically, they deny it, but we all really know what the NRA wants----guns as readily available as buying a soda pop.

Warik: You behave as though we are a government at war amongst ourselves. The U.S. is, of course, at peace. There's no real threat at home, our concerns are primarly elsewhere.
