Just got back from Dr's

miniest needto thought it would be cool to stuff his finger down inside his ear. He ended up cutting it open and of course the blood was like niagra falls or whatever. So the Dr said he cut it and that he did not rupture the membrane, did a hearing test it came out norm. So she could not see the cut because it was too deep and she did not want to stretch it and make it actively bleed again.
She gave me some ear drops and he has to keep gauze in his ear with medical tape holding it in...As if a 2 year old boy is not going to pull that shit out a million times!!!

He sat there and let the dr clean the blood and look down the ear, put drops in and put the cotton in his ear. He was awesome, sat there coloring and talking happily..
Now the shit wont stop taking the cotton out and every time he touches the damn thing it bleeds more!

Well his ear kept on bleeding.The dr said when he saw her, that the blood should dry up and the boo boo should scab over. I am honestly thinking this is a hell of a lot more blood than what could be caused by a scratch in his ear!!! So I listened to the dr and just kept re gauzing and re bandaging it every time that it bled through the cotton..I left him over night without any cotton in his ear hoping that would help. So far this morning it looks like all dry blood. I dont want to scrub at it though, incase I open the wound again. But if he does start bleeding again like last night I plan to go directly to the er. He totaled his shirt, blanket,pillow, etc. So to me that is a lot more than what a little finger nail cut would do!

It looks a lot better today. Very limited bleeding so far. I went against doc orders and followed gut like I said and allowed it to air out some what. The only bad thing is that his whole ear canal is blood crusted and due to not knowing exactly where the cut is I have been advised to not clean it because I do not want to re open the cut.
Lestat- thanks. They gave me some ear drops for him So hopefully it will not infect.
