From the company with the job offer for me.

I presented my resume and his client wants to interview me ASAP!

I'm quite excited, yet nervous all at the same time. I would bring in 15k more than my current income... that is what I requested so I'm thinking they are willing to pay that... but I have been with this current company for going on 7 years and I like the stability that I have here. I guess I need to just go on the interview and see what they have to offer and then sit down with my superior and let them know what I was offered.

I hate changing jobs, but seems the money and the benefits are much better elsewhere.

You should apply to where I work.

We just moved from PRO-E to Solid works and there's gonna be a huge transitionary period.

You gonna make the move?

What company? What state?

I am gonna take advantage of a training the company now is putting me thru first. Its a 3 day solidworks program for 1k a day :worried:

I wanna make a move, kinda scared but I need to branch off and see what I can do ;)

Tucson, Arizona.

More like Oro Valley (north tucson) - a lot nicer area.

Thats a good training program. I think a lot of the design engineers will be going to a solid works training program too.

We were going to get ANSYS but its like 100k per work station...something ridiculous.

I've completed three courses already, and have trained three other people in our office. I'm the only employee that has completed and got certified in any of the solidworks courses thus far. I and coworker have a corse coming up at the beginning of the month.

Solidworks is an excellent program, been working with it for about 4 years now, its like any other program though, so much to learn and so little time.

AZ isn't too bad... can you PM me some info on the company? I may be interested.

good luck

if ur not aggressive you'll never get a higher pay scale. sometimes that involves switching jobs. its not like back in the day where you get rewarded for your good work. they just keep giving u shitty pay even though u do good work now a days.

i like the idea of moving on quickly. have zero interest in long-term relationships with a company. of course, i haven't been working for that long, don't like what i do, and have no real need of stability. i'd move on every few months if it were feasible (outside of contracting/consulting, which i may try at some point).

if there aren't any "red flags" about the new opportunity, and you like the environment, and the money is right...just facking take it.

Every city needs a Quickie Mart bro.

You could be like Johnny Appleseed, except spreading Quickie Marts across the nation.

We'd call you 'Sanjie Quickie Mart'

Good luck.

What I've found is once you learn one parametric modeling software, you can easily adjust to the others....ex: Solidworks, UG, SDRC-Ideas, Inventor, Catia......all of them use the same concepts....just may have different nomenclature and commands to get there.

Interview at 11:am tomorrow... I'm so damn nervous

you are totally going to shit your pants during the interview. have a nice prune/protein/metamucil smoothie 20 minutes before the interview.

lol

I just got the specifics of the job and interview, and It looks GREAT. If I get the job I will give 2 weeks notice and also allow the job I am now to match the offer. I've been here going on 6 years and feel that If they think i am worthy then they will do what it takes to keep me... if not, then I move on.

I'll be sick for days now... lol

If you get an offer from the new company then just go back to your current employer and give them the opportunity to match or beat it. Either way you get more money and you may be able to stay with your current employer. Regardless, during the interview make sure you jump the interviewer and choke him out. It will show you're an aggressive employee with initiative. :lmao:

Good luck!

wear dark clothing. so the stains don't show thru. and stuff a couple of car air-fresheners down the back of your drawers.

That was my plan. I already recieved and offer WITHOUT THE INTERVIEW. Ill see what comes about today and allow them to match or make it better. If they feel I shouldn't recieve it then I move on.

I have a hard time brancing out. I have to have some stability with my job, and here I do... but they know that and feel I'll go nowhere because of it. I have had many opportunities but passed them by because of that reason. I need to branch off and get my fullest potential.

Taking a risk and accepting the new job might just be what you need, get out of that comfort zone. :coffee:

I don't have teef

LOL

Interview went great, I'm over quailified for the position but he said he wanted me hired so he would bump me up if they will allow. Very low key operation, relaxed..... yay...

My boss got the hint though today, i guess because I was so dressed up... he was searching for me and left me a message on my voicemail looking for me.

ah well
