It was a friend at the TOOL concert in St. Paul MN...

got a good 2 minutes of SOBER.. the first song of their set..

AWESOME.

I saw 3 tool shows in 4 days last month but I still want more!

Tool? I always had you pegged as a Barry Manalow fan...oh well. ;)

C

very funny asshole!

I'm listening to the second message now... two minutes of H.

lol - sounds like an ad for a phone company.

I always felt that the pig scene in Hannibal would make a really sweet cell phone ad. where they hold up a cell phone so that he can hear the pigs attacking a dummy.

I love Tool - never seen them in concert.
I'm seeing Coldplay sometime sort of soon I think.
and seeing the strokes in October.

Seen em twice. Maynard is a midget! Cool guy but he is allways messing with people- his way of "making them think" I guess. He trains in Gracie Jiu Jitsu so that is cool. To be honest I am not really into Tool anymore. I used to be but now they are the modern Rush. Too progressive for me. It gets boring. I am more into shorter songs and bands like Helmet,Deftones, Slipknot- that sorta stuff.

I love the Deftones.. slipknot is ok...

Tool is progressive, but in the best way... they have intensity.. complexity... agressiveness.. it is awesome...

I just got a 3rd call.... heard Schism..

Dude you owe it to yourself to see them.. its an awesome show. It really isn't just the music.. its the whole experience.

Saw them twice 2 weeks ago. The combo of Disposition, Reflection, and Triad were sick. Great shows.

Pebcak

yeah that combo is absolutely awesome live..

one day rage against the machine will return in a ray of light during a tool concert and crush them with almighty power. then everlasting glory and forgiveness will be bestowed upon all the people that have turned to the dark side that was formerly tool.

The members of Tool are good friends with the members of Rage.

Tom Morello actually hooked Adam up with Maynard.

Toooooool(they need more o's) just dont do it for me anymore. I have met the drummer- was a cool guy- very tall!! I just cant listen to it anymore, it gets boring, dosen't seem to go anywhere. Great band for sure and of course very influential but they just bore me now. I like APC better than Tool now. I have grown to really appreciate the shorter song format. Think System of a Down- short, heavy and great! My band will be the new shining light, the new heavy band that dosen't sound like Incubus or the other popy rock bands out nowadays. I am gonna call Lestat and leave a few songs on his voice mail! haha.

im a big system of a down fan too..

I was contacted before they were signed by their then manager.. he saw my name on the Tool fan page in like 1995 and said "dude if you like Tool check out this band" and sent me a 2 song demo.. I was hooked.

I grew up with Papa roach.. same city (Vacaville) and same age... I was pulling for them for years...

Short songs can be cool.. but short songs for the sake of having a short song is not cool.. the song should be what length the song was meant to be.. not 3:30 just because it will get more radio play.

Any of you guys know the name of backdrop by Alex Grey?

Wasn't the backdrop an original piece? Though, I could be wrong. Along with the three faces there was also a fetus in there as well. It was fucking sick.

Pebcak

Yeah I dont mean short for the sake of radio- in fact I hate radio and never listen to it unless I have no choice. I mean short like Beatles songs. SOAD songs tend to be under 3 minutes. I can say what I need to in that time. Not to say long progressive Tool type songs dont have a place too, cause they do. I just personally write shorter more compact songs.

The backdrop I'm referring to was three stone faces merged together. One facing east, one west and the one in middle was looking straight forward. Behind the faces was a typical "Alex Grey" style of painting.

It is called INTERBEING

The other circular one with the eyes and the faces on the outside is called Collective Vision.

The figures that dropped down are part of the sacred mirrors set.

I'm a huge Alex Grey fan and have some autographed prints.

I agree.. their last two albums are more molded that way... but they played for over 7 years before that dude.. put out many albums on their own.. and the stuff is raw, hardcore, and awesome.

When they signed with Dreamworks they made them get all polished up so that they cuold make some money off of them.

The man is correct, just confirmed at his website.

I'll have my own copy of collective vision shortly.
