Hello.
I am new to all this so please bear with me.
I have been trying to gain weight for many years with no results. I have tried all the powders and nothing works. my stats are 39 years old 5,11 tall and 145 pounds. i am planning on buying a Tuff Stuff CFM 550 in a few weeks and i plan to really start working out. my goal would be to put on about 20 to 30 pounds all mostly upper mass. Can anyone help me out with this? I see a lot of talk about this and that and not to ask about things so i am not really sure what to take and where to get what i need to get started.

Seems to me like you just need to fix your diet. Fuck trying all the supplements and whatnot...just eat more. Post up your diet and training and I'm sure we can find some things you can change to start putting on some weight.

And I'll add read, read, read thru all the boards there is tons of great info here, if you have questions on what you read then post away and these guys will help, I am about to post for help myself.

I have been reading and reading for days and have learned much but for the few things that i would really like to figger out. where to get what i want and how to use it. These things it would seem are not welcomed questions.

At 145 the bottom line is you're not eating enough.
Do you know how many calories you eat in a day?

Like bulldog said, tell us your diet and we'll go from there.

I follow. Zyou're right, they are not welcomed questions. Questions on diet and training most certainly are though.

I disagree. WHERE to get what he wants, maybe. But just about EVRYONE on this board will help him use whatever he gets so he doesn't hurt himself.

Ok. well other then all the basic weight gain powders and protein supplements i have been taking for years I may not have a real diet like what you are thinking of. I have no Pros to talk to about what to eat and drink. I did go to a Nutritionist once who told my i had a over active Metabolism and would never be able to gain weight. They told me not to run. Not to take the stair. not to ride my bike and so on. Well i am tied of all that now i would like to gain a little weight now. seeing as i am almost 40 which is 10 years past when they said my Metabolism would slow down i think it would be nice to gain a little over the 145. PLEASE HELP :verygood:

RAther than making the smart guys here play the guessing game, maybe you should read the sticky at the top of the board titled for Newbs. In there are about 7 questions you need to answer for anyone to be able to make a diagnosis of you. I did it and got some good responses.

Ok. Here it is.
1 - Age
39
2 - Lifting History
Not much. did a little in high school then on and off the last few years. I was told not to work out much because i would just loss weight that much easier.
3 - Height
145
4 - Weight
5,11
5 - Estimated BF% (Or at least, lean/think/fat etc
not sure about the SF% but it cant be must seeing that i go up and down 2 or 3 pounds a day. I can eat anything i want and by morning i have lost another pound.
6 - Diet
My Diet would consist of anything i think mite put on a few pounds. nothing really works. I was drinking the powder for a few years but got tired of that. It showed no real results.
7 - Goals
To gain 20 to 30 pounds by summer. maybe that is asking to much. but we all need goals ;)
8 - Proposed cycle (To show that you've at least done a little homework

This is where I have a problem. I dont really understand about the cycle. I understand about using weights and lifting for the most part my not the meaning of cycle the way I read it here in on the board. It seems to be used in context with vitamins or something along those lines. this is what i would like to learn more about. I would also like to learn more about how to start. What is have done in the past is all wrong I am sure and I am unwilling to lisen to the doctors about not being able to gain weight anymore.

I am planning on getting a home gym in a few weeks and dip tower. i plan to change everything i have been doing and work out everyday. 3 days upper 3 days lower 1 day off. where to begin. that is where i need the help. 5 sets 8 to 12 reps for 2 hours then maybe ride a stationary bike for an hour. I dont know where to apply the protein. what to get. how much and when to take it. so on and so forth.

Thinchief, really.
You have to give us more on the diet. What do you eat in a normal day? Meal 1, 2, 3, etc...A bowl of cereal for breakfast, a couple of Big Mac's for lunch, stuff like that. What did you eat all day yesterday, for example.

And if you've never really worked out that much, 6 days a week is going to be too much.

Ok... I normal day. lets see.

Wake up and have 3 cups of coffee. go to work and have maybe a Egg Mcmuffim and a few hash browns about 8 or 9am. for lunch 12am could be a late breakfast of 3 eggs with bacon and a stack of pancakes or maybe a turkey sandwich with a side of potato salad and a side of pasta salad. for dinner beef stroganoff which would be 1/2 pound of ground beef and a few cups of cooked rice.

You were told not to work out much as you would loose weight that much easier?
Holy Crap! You have been misinformed half your life.
You may loose some weight but you will add muscle.
Diet plays a huge role.RADAR

----------------------------------------------------------------------
You need to divide your meals into 6 servings thruout the day.
along with at least 2-3 hi protein shakes.
Eat plenty of clean foods. Chicken, Rice, Sweet potatoes, fish, tuna etc. RADAR

---------------------------------------------------------------------
Last of all join a Gym a home gym right now is the last thing you need, plus you will be more inclined to train there than you would at home, plus access to better range of equiptment.

If you have anymore Questions Mail me.

I learned that it takes more than a few days of reading. Took me six months to put together my first real cycle. They are weelcome questions here but do some research first then ask specifics on the research youve done.

there bis no reason to run acycle thinchef untill your taing and eit is in order or it will be a waist you need to find what works naturally and the think about cycles this iws just my opinion of course it is not easy to gqain quality weight it takes dedication and experimentaion like radar said you need to spread your meals out into six meals and take a couple of shakes inbetween i dont know why someone would tell you to not work out but dont listen get in the gym hit the weights and eat like and animal a see what happens good luck also ck out the training and diet boards there loaded with lots of info good luck
