I guess that I was pushing to hard in the bathroom or something but now my workout schedule will be all jacked. Anyone ever have one, how did you handle your fitness? I have surgery in 20 days.

Thanks

How did you find out?

I looked down at my junk and there was a bulge in my groin. Went to the doc and he said it's time for surgery :(

Wow bro that sucks. Army Vet has a huge thread in C&C detailing his hernia surgery and recovery. Best of luck to you.

i got that two years ago while playing basketball in college. it hurt like a mofo with certain movements. looked like an oragne slice right where the leg and nut sack meet.

never went to the dr. and luckily it went away after some r&r. hopefully it doesn't come back EVER!!!

I had two... yes women get them too.

The surgery to correct one was scary because I almost bled out, but that was a hormonal issue so I am thinking since you are not estrogen based creature you are safe. LOL

NEVER EVER wear a lifting belt as this will help causing them, not to mention overuse will weaken your core. Think about all the abdominal pressure that builds while wearing one. That pressure got to go somewhere...

This will also force you to focus on your breathing and concentrating the force you exert during your lifts to the muscle groups you are working.

Sorry to hear - speedy recovery!!!

You are suppose to breathe when you lift?

My husband had hernia surgery about a year ago. It was out patient surgery...went in at 10 and was home before 5. He was back at work in a week and lifting again after 6 weeks.

See a doctor.

You got the rest of your life to get into the greatest shape of your life. Take the time after the surgery to recover fully. You don't want to screw the doc's good work up.

Do not EVER wear a lifting belt again. Those days are far behind you now.

i had a small rip in my abs, i was told by the dr. that there was a chance it might turn into a hernia. it didn't. but i stopped lifting everything for a month and didin't do abs for the next 3 months. not as serious as you injury, i didn't need surgery though.
