Damn, W6 sure can pick em. I've had my eye on her ever since W6 told me about her last year. Good stuff.

former PL'er too. i guess her max comp squat was somewhere near 450. wow! and a comp bench 315 too. whoa!

she looked good. so did heather.

the overall mens winner (LHW) was one of the guys from my gym. very good guy, and a good winner as well.

You're never gonna believe this, Nate, but did you know that lifting heavy will help you build muscle? :nerd:

;)

Bonnie looked really good...I overheard her on the phone...she was so excited after the pre-judging...she was the first call out.

I'm a fan of Annie Rivieccio as well. Always comes in hard, full and has great symmetry. Never makes #1. Wish they'd let her turn pro already. She has certainly paid her dues and could easily compete with the pro heavys.

Heather Lee should have taken her class. It was a shame that it didn't happen because, she was insane looking. Coming in second was a crock, she should have been first. Shredded to the bone and absolutely stunning. Considering that she blew away Jr. Nationals Champ, Dena Westerfield, I thought that was an achievement as well as beating Elena Seiple.

heather got screwed...but she will win the overall next year.....it was great to be out there to see it :)

I 2nd what kronk said - the girl was sick looking. JUST SICK! The heavyweights were a tough group though -- LOTS of size there, but Bonnie Priest had it all. Interestingly, the beefier girls didn't pull it. There was some HYUGENESS up there.

Oh yea, and I got a pic (....stars twinkling....) with Gunther. What a hunk.

Heather looked amazing! No doubt about that. Her quads were unbelievable...we know the girl can squat! The only thing that we could see that could be an area of opportunitity would be her posing. It was more the style than the ability to display muscle (from my untrained eye). I'm trying to be objective and figure out what the judges were thinking. I didn't think that the gal who took first in her class looked better than her at all and I was really surprised when Heather didn't take 1st.

I would also have to agree with Nonerz - this Maya Stone girl apparently blew peeps out of their seats at BodyRock 2 weeks earlier. From a training standpoint, if she could maintain what she did at that show & if anything, just lean out more, she would come in hard to stop at the USAs. But... from an aesthetics standpoint, I personally thought she looked good, but not great. Heather's quads & glutes were crawling with striations - I just don't think the whole package could've been better. Unfortunately with women's bb you never really know if the judges are gonna lean towards the beef or the leanness, towards the femininity or the size. Its a hard one, and often, not consistent. But all I can say is major props to Heather - its not too shabby to be the 2nd best middle weight in the country! You know you're still NUMBER ONE to those who know better baby! ;)

lil k -- you're a hot little powerhouse yourself baby! And Ranger, and kronk and the rest of the crowd - POWAAA! Wish we had more time to tear up the town.

IMO, Bonny ROCKED!!!! YOU GO GIRL!!! She is one of the nicest people and I'm so happy for her.

As for the middles. Maya deserved the class win but Elena should have gotten second. Heather was a bit harder than Elena but Elena had more of a symmetrical body along with thicker, more mature muscle. They both looked good but I would have changed the placings and if the night show counts for anything, which its supposed to be rejudged when you make top 5, elena should have won because she is the QUEEN of presentation and great night show routines.

Heather Lee looks great but needs to be a heavy. She will be top 5 in the heavies next year at Nationals if thats what she decides to do.
