Its a completely different type of film.

American Psycho is much more of a satire, and its meant to be humerous.

The Machinist is just plain dark and fucked up.

Yeah, they are very different movies, this is true.

Therefore, they both kick ass on an equal basis.

Sadly, The Machinist was a disappointment to me. I figured it out VERY early on.

Plus the fucked up way Christian speaks really grates my nerves.

Like Jeffrey Wright, he uses a different accent in every film hes in.

Some of the differences are very subtle, but are definately there.
