Just curious.. what do you ladies squat?

What's the bar? 40? I add 50lbs to it - so 95 for 3 sets of 20.

when i was pl'ing I did 265 comp and 300 shortly after but that was with briefs.

during training i've done 225 for reps with no gear.

Now I basically just do 185 for reps. I am working my way back up to do some pl training though so hopefully i will hit 350 soon :)
 
In late July '03 I did 345 to 1-2 inches below parallel. Toppled backward with the barbell 3 months later I think and put away the heavy weights after that.

Now I dont know...for some rep I'd guess 250 at the very most.

They're all looking at me like what the hell.... One guy told me last week to let him know when my leg day is, I asked why and he said cause he won't do legs that day. lol

They all kinda stand around and watch me :rolleyes: I think I'm going to start charging!
 
I was squating..... 150.. but i dropped it too 100 because i was gettign bulking is why i was asking :) ty ladies

sounds like you have a better sense of humor about it than I ever did, mi amiga. Good for you. :)

In my own case, it was actually the drama caused by my leg workouts that finally made me decide to train exclusively in a home gym.
 
even with my lower weight they still watch... but i think it has to do with the way im bending :rolleyes:

Where the hell do all you girls work out? LOL. I am constantly amazed at all the stories of lewd stares and rude lifters and catty women. I have never noticed ANYTHING like that at my gym that I can remember....

Anyway, I squat 130 on the Smith machine. I'm not confident enough of my balance to squat with just a bar.
 
The last time I squated heavy was in 98-99, I don't really remember what weight I used. I think it was somewhere between 160 & 180.....can't remember.

I squat 95-100 lbs now.

If you do just the bar it helps build stabliezer muscles which help build your core strength (IE nice abs). Try squating with just the bar then add 5 a side then 10 a side and so on building your way up. Machine movements are great for issolation exercieses but compounds should always be done with free weights IMO.

As for me I never notice looks squating but I have drawn a crowd DLing. LOL

The people at my gym aren't being rude, I think it's more they are shocked at the weight I use, for such a tiny person.

Like I was saying about the guy that asked when my leg day was, and he said he didn't want to train the same day as me, he wasn't being rude. His training partner had told him about my leg work out, I squatted 150lb for 5 sets of 8 with a 6 sec. TUT, then went and leg pressed 420lbs for 4 sets of 10 with a 5 sec TUT. And he said he didn't want to be in the same room as me on that day cause he didn't want to be embarassed.

I took it as compliment.
 
So today was leg day, and I'm going to have to change my answer to 175lbs baby!

I don't know where the hell my strength is coming from, but it's crazy! And I'm quite happy!

It's safe to say that this diet / no cardio thing as been working for you!!!
 
Miss 24K, are you doing any cardio at all during the week? I'm trying to put on muscle and lifting heavy as I can. My hubby says to cut out all cardio during bulking phase....thats why I'm asking :)

Yes it is! And I'm loving it. lol

Mrs.Jnuts no I'm not doing any cardio, I'm not a big fan of it to start with, so I'm jumping for joy that I'm doing none right now.

I wouldn't mind giving it up either:)(cardio) Nice jump in leg strength, I'm still hoving @ 115 lbs. for squats :(

I do my squats on the smith machine with only 30lbs added , because that coupled with my current weight...it's a miracle that once I bend down I can even get back up..... :worried: :D :D :FRlol: :FRlol:

Hell girl I usually do not do squats and If I do, I'll use the bar (45 lbs) sometimes will add weight.

I would have some ripped thunder thighs if I started heavy leg work. (I am not saying heavy leg work will cause this for you or anyone, sure does for me

Besides, not all of us can be 'quadzilla' over here .:) *ahem m24k*
