Jump Rope and cardio......

When a pole isn't available nor a fitness center, what about jump rope for cardio?? I watched on you tube where the guy says its great way to get cardio in. Any thoughts on this?

Thanks
Walli

I prefer cycling since i hate running, but i do have a friend who jumps rope, and hits the boxing bags up for cardio.

I learned that boxing / fighting is the best cardio.

Yeah skipping is quite good.

How proficient are you at skipping? I'm quite a fan of "double unders" HIIT. Basically, do as many double unders as you can, then take 20-30 second break, and repeat.

It has similar jumping requirements to box jumps intervals (perhaps not quite as hard), but also more heavily involves the arms than conventional skipping due to the speed you need to whip the rope

Well, when it's a good cheap way of cardio then I am in.... I saw the vids at you tube and gonna try out those routines Desmond. Looks kinda rough, bu I think I can do it. If not I wil collapse trying. Then try again. LOL

Thanks for the replies.
