A couple of my friends I show cars with in Florida sent their vette's off to get full Lingenfelter conversions, suspension and that ripping engine, they are MEAN !!! I thought my stock Z06 would rip until I drove one a Lingenfelter.
 
they have a lingenfelter that runs a 7.7 1/4 mile, in motor trend they put it up against a blue angel fighter plane on a runway, smoked that plane like a philly blunt. those are some nasty cars. personally i like the Z06 because it pulls a lateral G stock

thanks bro, goes into dealership tomorrow to get full M5 body panels installed.....my car shipped before the "meaner" front and rear ends were finalized, wait until you see it next week !!!!! Oh yea, the cross drilled and slotted rotors with epoxy coated calipers are in too :)

I've been out Porsche shopping the last week while on vacation but bro the reviews with the 2006 Z06 vs. the 911 are incredible, z06 with 505hp, whips it's ass not only in acceleration but handling, g's, and braking for $30k less money......
 
thats sick indy, M6 is gonna be hot too. my boy just got porsche gt carrera, 400,000 car, runs a 9 stock, does 60 in first gear and 1/4 mile in second gear. unbelievable, i'm also extremely impressed with the bi turbo cl 600 benz. its running a 3.6-3.9 0-60.

Yea m6 is nice, but I opted out for the 5, earlier delivery, same performance........GT Carrera, out of my league, TOO MUCH DOUGH, and I may be older than all of you, but still too young for a Benz :) they are tough though
 
i don't personally like benz, but my boy has every 600 bi turbo the S, the CL and SL, i just have felt the power. i like porsche's bimmers and honestly i'm lookin to get a cadillac cts V. fuckin love a caddy with a vette engine. yea u can't compete with the new Z06 money or performance wise. you have to spend 90,00 on a GT3 to compete and thats crazy, the kid with the carrera gt and benzos owns a company that is in crains every year pullin in 300 million, they only have 22 employees unlike the others that all have 1000 employees or more, crazy money, he has to go to some fucked up countries though and definitely has no time to enjoy those toys. he had an M5 with a dinan supercharger when we were in college together.

people don't understand that bmw is performance at its finest, you can do infinite dinan mods to that car. you should order a dinan catalogue, however, the new M5 doesn't have all the goodies yet, but hell yea you supercharg that thing considering the 7 speed trannie, you'll be pushin 200 mph no problem, and throwin down mid 10 second 1/4 miles

they are sick as hell, bimmer just outdoes themselves, satch you seen the M3 with a V-8, its the production version of their race car. phenomenal. you think the M5 is smoother than an S-55 benz with the supercharger?

But you are right, My wife's M5 powered X5 is tough as nails too and it's 12" wide 20" tall wheels, make my 19x10's look small, I beat the hell out of her car !!!
 
i don't think the car needs to be any faster, i'm simply saying that it can be made to take any car on the road and its a luxury sedan at the same time, but yes the Z06 is our last hope at keeping the american muscle dominance,

Agreed and agreed, I have not drove anything other than a Bimmer to work as a daily driver in over 6 years, I'm hooked, still need my hot rods, but damn BMW can do that too now !!!

and man I love the Donkey Kong thing, I want one for my arcade, would slide nicely between my Pac Man and Ms. Pac Man games, and it's a great place to hold my gear and syringes instead of Mt. Dew

no benz 55 AMG additions come with a kompressor, which is german for supercharger, they are all supercharged if they are made after 2003. the new v-12s come with the bi-turbo as well. its all stock

damn you guys are high rollers....I just traded in my X5 4.8is because the gas was UNREAL.... 9-11mpg.. Now i have a m3 with the competition package... I love it but damn.. m5?? Were you one of the first to get one???

I've bought them in the past and and I a GOOD customer, they take care of me, M6 rolls in about 45 days, cant do it though, too small for me, I have 2 little ones and they dont fit in the 6, new 5 rocks, and they get lost in the 7.
 
Nice Indy... I loved my x5 4.8is.. I was leasing it and I actually bought the m3 for what my lease payments were on the truck... I never noticed I was a big guy until I bought the m3.. 6'1 225 is too big to squeeze into that little car..I cant ride with a dude in the car because i am rubbing freaking shoulder with him.. the m5 only comes in the SMG 7 speed right?

Nope 7 speed manual and SMG, M3 is small, but the new one will rock, same size as the older model 5, with a V8 in it.

Agreed, I think I have my wife talked into one, after checking out the Porsche's, she likes the Chevy price tag alot more, but if I get the Z06, one of the 1969 Camaro's just has to go to make room, tough decision :rolleyes:

Any day now, I get my vettes from the guy that gets the largest allocation in the country, just built a new "Corvette Country" dealership, that sells NOTHING but new vettes, was there over weekend, no Z06 yet.

At least your wife knows, my friend bought his without telling his wife. He got his ass kicked for that. That's cool that you have a good dealer near you, there is a dealer in Atlantic City that specializes in vettes too. IMO keep the pace car.

Well, now that you mentioned, I have not bought a Vette since I found a ZR-1 in Atlanta a few years ago, had it for 3 months in storage before my wife found out about it.......she went home to mom for 3 days, boy she was pissed, hasn't let me drive a vette since I sold that one.

2007 Shelby Cobra will conquer all. Take care of getting a Bigger cam...ported heads...more boost...and your looking at a 700+r.w.h.p monster. But then again...your kids might not like the ride..LOL. I do love the M5...M6...etc. All very nice rides, i'm just a american muscle guy myself.
 
I've been looking into the Z06. I was planning on it and now am headed for Japan for a couple of years and will probably wait til 07. It's a great car though.
 
anyone have much experience modifying cars? I have a Audi I would like to modify but do not want to void the warranty. I am wondering how much extra strain those chips put on the enigine and transmission etc. The car I own is an Audi A6 2.7T quattro. Since it is twin turbo it will gain a substaintial amount of horsepower/torque by using a modified chip, but I am scared the life of the car will be much reduced. Anyone out there owned a car modified with a chip for an extended period of time?

Actually it was about a 9.5 quarter mile at about 150mph.

I Have a 2002 Z06 420hp The thing runs like the space shuttle! Serious "g's".
Its not the fastest thing on the road, but its plenty fast enough for this guy.
My biggest thrill was kicking an old RT Viper Roadster on I 75 fun stuff!




Get used to the rear thats all you will see on open throttle!

My boy wooped up on a moded Viper ACR with his '03. Not too many cars on the street will beat it, and the people that own the ones that can don't drive them like that anyway.
 
I got a 98 Honda Accord EX (yes you read that right EX) edition that will rock all these cars worlds in MPG. I get 33 MPG EASY going downhill with a tailwind and the AC turned off. Lets see a BMW do that!

I have "tuned" it a bit. I got a bazooka tube subwoofer back in 2000 and a Rockford Fosgate Tape player. I swear, Def Leppard never sounded so good! I also got a Cobra CB so I can keep in touch with my trucker buddies. However, the "piece eh resistance" is the glow in the dark curbfeelers (neon green of course) I installed myself. You can see me coming (and going) when I cruise the streets in this cherry ride.

If you think it might be me flying by you on the freeways, just look at the license plate. It says TESTE.

bro, the only corvettes running that fast have tube frames and removable fiberglass bodies, and nothing else but a drivetrain, they have nothing in common with a "real" corvette. No streetable corvette with "drag tires" is running in the sevens, do you have any idea how much power that requires and how fast that really is?

i understand what you are reffering to, like the apex acura integra that runs an 8.6 1/4 mile, that is nothing like the real car. however, i am going to get the article so you guys can see, its a regular 2000 vette, the kit costs 50,000 and they put on twin turbos, and every other thing you can think of. it runs a 9 second 1/4 with regular tires, and then they put on drag tires to race the plane. this is a completely street legal car

The C6 Z06 to be released, that's the claim, but the Porsche still has that bragging rites thing about it.........affording one is the hardest part of driving one.

yeah, a 9 second street car is perfectly feasable, but it takes ALOT more to go from 9's to 7's than drag radials or slicks, like....1000hp more among endless other things. Im sorry but you are just mistaken, im not flaming you bruce, but its pretty much impossible to get a street legal vette to go that fast with bolt-ons.

i don't take offense at all my friend, infact i looked it up and you are right it ran a 9 second 1/4, it did pull a staggering 1.97 second 0-60 run.

1.97 0-60 is just rediculous, I had an awd dsm I built (same car in the vette vid actually) anyways they are sick off the line as seen in the vid and i was timed at mid 3 sec 0-60 runs. I could give people whiplash if i caught them off gaurd lol. I cant imagine what sub 2 seconds feels like.

fo sho. yea if you type in vette vs. blue angel on google, you'll get a motortrend site, not the exact article, but it has the best vettes in every category, fastest top speed, 1/4 mile, and best handling ones.

Wow, amazing ride! Hard to tell but is it Carbon Black? I have an 03' Carbon Black, not quite as done up as yours just Dinan exhaust and software upgrade, but it still gets the looks :p

It's true. THe guy was pissed. On paper the Viper is faster but people don't know how to drive them.

On paper?? It's hands down faster, and to learn to drive it, is about a week learing curve.

ehh it will be a inline 6 again

in the E46 they had a v8 for the start but they went for the inline 6 in the end... the m3 shouldnt get a v8...keep the 6 in there
