Jonathan Peters @ Club Tru

talked to management this weekend....there could be special with hotel room and admission to the club if people are interested...they have a hotel connected to the club, which people go to throughout the night when you get tired and what not....no re-admission fee in AC...i know girls that go out to their cars 5 times a night and change outfits..very much a SF type dress code also...

this is going to be nuts..i know some people are going to be in costume, but it is not needed....they said they will stay open til 8am at the earliest...depending on the crowd, maybe later....if you haven't been to Tru it is a cool place and it will be 21+, they have a 24 hour liquor license which is clutch and the staff there is really nice....they also have a deck (if the weather is still somewhat nice)....

Supe, NJStacked, Mags....if you need more details let me know...the club is off martin luther king blvd...right up the street from Sands casino...we should definitely hang out that night...

Man you guys and jonathan peters, HOUSE SUCKS FOLKS. Sorry to say, but a blind monkey with one arm and 2 belt driven decks could spin house and be a great house DJ. Long live trance!!!;)

You're out of your mind...if it's that easy to spin house music then it's twice as easy to spin trance...the bridge in trance tracks is so obvious it's foolproof, plus there are less vocals.

There is not much difference between progressive house and trance these days anyway...

Haha you havent heard good trance my man, it is NOT easy to spin, and there is so much that actual music selection is that hardest part. And beat matching house, come on, you can EASILY find 100 or more house records right now today that have an EXACT SAME BEAT and sit there and spin the same sounding shit all night. I mean really, everytime my friends tell me about some stupid house DJ, carl cox and umm a few others, i cant remember them right now, I hear the same beat the whole time. Really. You can sit there and fast forward through the whole thing, and it all sounds the same. Trance has very different beats, differnet rhythms, some are vocal, some not, some are progressive, some are much harder. And where are you gonna start mixing in the next song? With the beat ever changing in a song and everything else going on, spinning trance as good as some pro DJ's do it is damn near impossible. Especially doing it for hours without screwing up! And there is a HUGE difference from trance to house-simply put, house uses an inane beat that is ok sounding but never changes so you basically get forced to dance, i mean you hear the same repetitive beat over and over and over, and its so danceable that you cant help it. Trance on the other hand develops moods and emotions, its always changing and very progressive, and while i bet you can find thousands of house songs that all sound alike, most trance songs are like people, very unique and, dare i say it, most of them have a soul. A house song is just a simple beat with some lame vocals and some kind of ambient noise to make it sound like music, trance is so much more its ridiculous. Oh yeah and lets not forget house evolved from disco and they both sound very similar, trance was a spin off of acid house and took its own form after xtc changed the party scene into what it is today. And im not talking trance you hear here, im talking good euro trance, what tiesto and van dyke and armin van buuren and others spin. If you want an example of some good trance mixes, check out tiesto live@gatecrasher the NEC 2002, or paul van dyke live@mayday 2002, or tiesto x-mix 2001, or sasha altered states. Damn i just realized i have too many mixes LOL, 196 at last count haha. Anyway i was just tryin to rile you guys up, always fun to start some controversey haha. But trance is the best, no doubt!

Uh oh,

I know good trance music, my man, in fact I love trance music as much as I love house music. I've been DJing for about 8 years, everything from deep house, hard house, trance, breakbeat, jungle.

Tiesto and van Dyk for example, use the same bpm throughout their live sets, because as you said, it forces you to dance. Apart from the rare breaks sections, it's aaaalllll 4/4, four to the floor beat, be it house, trance or disco. That's right the same beat. What varies MORE in house than in trance is the percussion over the beat.

You are sooo grossly misinformed if you think house is so banal, maybe you are mistaking it for something else. House is a vague term, as the different sub-genres vary tremendously.

Acid house comes from house music, BEFORE the club drug x entered the scene. Nameley from the fellas in chicago named DJ Pierre, Felix the Housecat, Photon etc etc...I'm not even gonna go into the Detroit scene.

I agree with you though, dutch trance is where it's at. Ferry Corsten has my vote for best overall producer.

Do you remember Verachocha? huuuge track

Peace
