JM Presses

Guys and gals,

I finally put JM presses in my routine yesterday. Overall, I was really impressed on how they targeted the triceps. I watched a video by B Fold and tc3, which stimulated my interest.

Tell me if I am correct. The JM press felt like a combination between a close/medium grip bench press and a skull crusher except you come to the upper chest. The movement is a balance between an extension movement and a press.

It is pretty sad. . . nobody in the gym where I train has a clue what a JM press is, or WSB, DC, or any other popular strength routines.

Anyway, I wanted to share this with you guys. If you guys have any special tips. . . I am open for suggestions.

Right now, I am getting the form down as I am using 135lbs for my building set.

can you link the video ? i saw you mention it in the DC sticky and wanted to ask what it was.

is it for tri isolation or is it chest too ?

yep! i think the JM press & the floorpress are the best kept secret tri mass builders most people never heard of:confused:

I have a copy of the video save on my computer, but there is no way I can link it.

I like them...

WSB looks at how a lifter most likely will miss a lift...then they think of ways to make an exercise to strengthen the 'miss portion' of it. Most benchers will miss the lift when it comes towards their face or through the lockout...so they hit it with JM Presses and Board Presses.

Ever fall fwd on squats or deads...Good Mornings help with that problem.

yep

I think I will stick to close-grip & dips, for bit yet, I might try these later on, Im still getting good results doing thee above.

I will certainly use this exercise for my DC rotation. I can see how it can help powerlifters. I think it will also build a good tricep. At first, it is awkward, but I will stick with it.

I did these yesterday with dips. That's all I did for my tris (plus some stretching), and my tris are sore as hell. Haven't felt like this in a while. I love it.

I am confuses cause it look so much as a close bench grip... what is the difference? The only thing I see is that the bar go about 2 inch upper of what I do when I do close bench:confused:
