My girlfriend has a friend who just got engaged. The problem is that the guy:

Racked up $60,000 in debt while they were together (he actually paid for his girlfriends birthday dinner on HER credit card).
Repeatedly was caught whacking it to porn in the living room while his girlfriend was begging him for sex (excuse was that she wanted it too much).
Got rid of all of her friends because they can't stand him.
Moved her to another country where he proceeded to lose his job forcing them to have to move back. (he has never had a steady job in the two years they have dated)
He's been verbally abusive many times calling her stupid and fat, a bitch, etc.
They have been to couples counseling five times in the past year.

Sometimes I just think people get what they deserve. When she wants my reaction to the whole thing I'm planning to shake my head and tell her how stupid I think she is. Too harsh?

It's only hard because my girl is her best friend and hates the guy too - she actually said she may refuse to be her maid of honor because she can't support their wedding.
