jeep wranglers?

went and test drove a jeep wrangler the other day and really liked it. does anyone here own one and still like it? are they any good or are they pieces of shit? ive heard that people have a lot of problems with them. is there any truth to this?

i jsut sold my jeep, 1998 Wrangler, 4cyl. 4" procomp lift 33" tires black very bad ass, got a lot of looks in it, chicks dug it but let me tell ya bro, do not buy the 4 cyl. it sucks, even if you gear it up it still is very under powered. Other than that they are mean mud machines, and lots of fun to drive.

Also never had any trouble with my jeep i had it for about 2 years, and abused it often, mud, sand, beach.

yeah i test drove a 01 4.0L 6cy sport wrangler. that would be the one i get if i decide on it. i had a 4cy infiniti g20 and i will never buy another 4cy again.

LMAO a 4cyl trying to turn big ass 33" tires no wonder you had no power. I had an 85 CJ-7 that had the 296? straight 6 in it with 33's and that SOB would go anywhere.......great for rock climbing in the desert.

Good luck with a sound system worth a shit tho...... I made custom boxes that fit in the V of the roll bars.....threw some 10" pyles in there....some 1" tweeters facing the front.....and some 4" Fosgate mids in the front. If you do all that shit tho better make sure you have a kick ass alarm.

yeh the icemans right they are a lot of fun, if you get a soft top get an alarm. The only reason i got rid of mine was all the towing and pulling trailers i do to races and such. As for the gearing i chose no to install gears becuase i was selling it. For your info the 4 Cyl. comes with 4:11gears stock so with small tires its not that bad, but even when i had stock tires and no lift i could only do about 80mph tops, that sucked, then when i got the big tires i could do about 70 down hill.

The alarm type you are refering to is one with a proximity sensor added to the alarm system.Anyone with a convertible or removable top truck NEEDS to have one on the car.The alarm uses a RADAR that uses microwave like beams that form a shield around your car or truck. The sensitivity can be adjusted so that if someone reaches into your car or jeep the alarm will go off full blast or just a warn away chirp, but if they stay in the zone for more than a few seconds it will go off FULL BLAST.CLIFFORD AND DEI MAKE THE BEST OUT THERE AND ALSO ALPINE. I have air horns under my hood and one in the car so the sob who is feeling lucky will be deaf and run like hell when 140 decibels in the car and more outside go on !! Always get a hood lock on your vehicle because they will try to get at the sirens and horns first to stop the noise.Remember that the install is 95% of the package and make sure the installer can show you some of his work, pictures, and that goes for stereo components also.If they have no photos to show you or if the shop looks like shit inside the installation bay and lobby, well RUN the hell out and fast. MORE INFO GO TO www.clifford.com or www.dei.com stereo websites www.sounddomain.com or www.termpro.com they have a wealth of info and on sounddomain you can go to member pages and input the make and model of your vehicle and check out lots of cars just like yours with many different systems for you to check out . good luck and on that wrangler go to consumer reports and see what the experts have to say. If you get a used one go to www.carfacts.com and for a fee find out what the car has been through, accidents , how many owners, etc....:)
