1,) they dont ban you from the church if u date someone outside the religion. If you have sex before your married (which is called fornication) , you will be "disfellowshipped" for a certain time frame where noone is supposed to asscociate with you until you are forgiven. which isnt that long of a time anyway.

2.) there are snobs in every religion, so u cant blame that on them, i know JW;s that are the most friendly people i ever met to other non-jw;s.

3.) they dont believe in hell, but they believe in heaven. and they believe that 144,000 chosen people (the annointed) are the ones that go there.

4.) the few times i went to a jw church they had windows everywhere..so i dont know what the hell your talking about, if you happen so see one church without windows that doesnt mean they all dont have them.

Money hungry?? wtf?...if u have ever been to one of there churches you will see that they dont have little collection plates passed around, they have donation boxes that people can make small donations for all the literature, bibles , books, you can just walk into the room and take for free.So you basically all proved my point about knowing jack shit.

most of there beliefs are the same at other christians...(they are christians if u dont not know that)...they believe in god and jesus and all the apostles and what not. the only dont celebrate pagan holidays , and dont salute the flag because that is idolism in there eyes.

I have been to 2 jw churchs- no windows.

My wife was banned because she was DATING me
Her family wasn't supposed to talk to her after she was banned
They wouldn't let her go back until after we got married.

They don't celebrate shit. No birthdays, or any holidays(religious or not)

I don't know about being snobs I never said they were.

They believe in God but they don't believe that jesus exsist yet.

If you need to go door to door to get people to join your church then you must be doing something wrong.

"They are Christians"
hahahahahahahaha

Or not. I love how the watchtower has been edited so many times for predicting false proficies of the future. The Bible says that any man who adds to the Bible will be burned in the lake of fire. The JWs did that.
And would please stop coming over while I'm eating!

Just wanted to add my two-cents' worth...

When I was growing up, my mother was Lutheran and my father was Episcopal (both non-practicing, so to speak). When we moved out to Arizona, we eventually got a visit from the JW's, and my mom decided to check out their church. We went for a few years, until she finally got tired of their pressure to do the door-to-door thing. Other than that though, their services were totally fine. As a kid, I found them even more enjoyable than the regular church services I was dragged to when the grandparents were in town. The JW service would start with a song, then a prayer, then pretty much an hour of bible-study, followed by another prayer, and that was it. None of the silly rituals that I had to sit through in the other religions' services.

Like SicklyDiesel said, there is no demands for money. Just a collection box at the back of the church (Kingdom Hall). In fact, the only real peer-pressure there is to do the door-to-door thing.

As far as the door-to-door thing goes, sure they want people to join their church, but it's more about just spreading the message of their religion. Look at Mormons... they do it also.

I'm not sure where Cybernigg got the info on their views on Jesus. Sounds more like Judaism. JW's do believe that Jesus existed. They just don't believe that he was crucified on a cross. ...and that whole thing is just semantics anyway. They believe a particular interpretation of the bible that says that Jesus was bound to a stake (just one vertical pole, not two perpendicular poles like a cross), the same way as all the other criminals, etc..

...anyway, I'm not JW now. I believe in God and Jesus, but I don't need any sort of organized religion in order to have a relationship with them.

I am only saying what I was told by my wife, her family, and her friends. All JW and that is what they told me.

I honestly don't give a fuck what you are. As long as you understand that I have my beliefs and I can't be changed. The main thing that I don't like about JW is the door to door shit.

In the end I agree with you. I don't see the need of organized religion.

I agree 100% on that! :)

It must really suck to be a JW knowing every day that of the Billions of people that have lived since the begining of time, only 144,000 of those Billions are going to get to heaven. People of 100+ years ago were alot less corupt and led better lives then the people of today so all of them are screwed.

All I can say is if that number is right, then I'm fucking screwed.

:fro:

I guess, I'll jump in here with my .02. My aunt, uncle and cousins are JW's. I thought they were wierdos when I was growing up because that's what EVERYONE else in my family said; however once I took the time to ask them about their religion I realized that they are not wierd just devoted. The are not hurting anyone. I'm not a JW and the speak to me all the time.
They don't believe in Hell. The believe everyone (except for the wicked) will get a second chance to be saved, and live on earth in Paradise. 144,000 will go to Heaven. They believe blood is sacred that's why they are against blood transfusions. They don't believe in the government or the military. They believe in being lawful, but will go to jail before they would go to war. They only believe in divorce when the wife or husband cheats, but you can get legally seperated.

It's not the religion for me, but they (my aunt, uncle, and cousin) are happy and the are good people so I see nothing wrong with it. Oh and they "disassociated" their son because he was living with a woman and had kids but they were not married. I don't agree with that but it's their choice.

You've got the right info about their belief, but are kind of taking it out of context.

They do believe that only 144,000 people will go to heaven. They also believe though, that the rest of the people who were good will continue to live on a paradise earth, after "wickedness" has been wiped clean from it. So it's not like the rest of the people are completely screwed in their eyes.
