a badass lot they were, much respect.

out of all the conflicts of modern times i find ww1 the most devastating and surreal...for every 1 UK bor killed in ww2, 3 were killed in ww1.
a whole generation of peeps were wiped out and crippled.

yep. lots of them died. theyre being dug up in fragments of bone and dogtags every once in a while.

dont have too much faith in the modern australian soldier tho - during training, they carry little "stress cards" that they hold up when the training is too intense, and instructors MUST leave them alone and give them a break...kinda like a red card in soccer, but they give it to themselves which kinda prompts me to ask them exactly wtf theyre going to do when theyre fighting a real enemy

if anyone invades us, we're screwed

My mom was 39 and my dad was 49...obviously I'm the youngest of five kids.
