I've heard wonderful things about Creatine but...

I tried Creatine about a year ago for a very short period of time, and I did notice a difference, but I stopped using it after a while, because I was poor and couldn't afford to keep buying it, but I have a question about it. I know it works, I have seen it work, and I know everyone is saying how awesome it is, but I have heard that all of the gains you make while using it leave after you stop, is this true?

The bloat will leave you along wth any strength that came from being bloated.

You need to make good use of the benefits creatine gives you while using it to increase your workload in training. If you don't use the creatine to work harder in your training then its effects will be purely temporary. If you use the creatine to push yourself harder then the benefits of that hard work will stay with you. Although you will likely perform worse than while you taking the creatine, the aim is to be performing better than before the course/cycle.

You'll read pretty much the same story for any performance-enhancing product.

no but like anyhting you have to keep training and eating to keep your gains, you can not expect to gain muscle then hold onto it if you dont keep working out

try Pure CEE very good creatine just click on my banner, it is in pill form and low bloat or loading phase. it is as easy as taking a pill :)

my personal belief is that creatine only works on a heavy bulk cycle. if yer cutting and trying to maintain stength/muscle mass, creatine wont do jack. but if yer on a high cal diet with some extreme workouts, creatine is a huge factor in your gains.

Thanks alot for the info blut and diesel and I agree with you lee. One of the reasons I didn't start taking creatine again is because I started cutting with strict ketogenic macronutrient ratios and didn't want screw that up.

I would like to hear why you believe this. There are many competitors that use creatine up until the last week before a show, just to help maintain lean mass and keep the muscles hydrated. Some go through the show with it. I'm sure a high calorie diet would help with gains, obviously because your body can find what it needs to rebuild after a brutal workout, but saying creatine won't do 'jack' is a fallacy, unless of course you have read something I have not.

what's/who's your source on that?

I think it makes more sense to ask for a source on the assertion that it's only of worth during a bulker.

Creatine aids in the process of replenishing a muscle's ATP. Bulking and cutting should have no bearing here. Creatine monohydrate often leads to bloating but that's just water weight which dissipates on cessation of the creatine.

I think creatine does help on a cutting cycle. I've used creatine in the past when I was cutting and found that my recovery rate as improved as well as my strength. I used it quiet a bit in highschool during wrestling season. I notice dramatic improvements while using it compared to going off it.

SGTslaughter, I would have to look through alot of posts on two different boards. So I will let you do that instead. But go to bodybuildingworld.com THat's beverly's site, they have people that take creatine up until the day of the show. Also, OCBbodybuilding.com, it's an all natural board, and I'm pretty sure they have had quite a few competitors who do the same. If you can't find it, register at one of them and ask.
