I've done nothing today

i got to work at 9:15
sat on the couch reading till around 10. made a phone call at 11 that went like this:
"Hi. its me, Sugarplum. Do you have the blah blah blah?"
Other person: "i'll get back to you."

fast forward to 1:30pm. In between, i've done nothing. read EF, ordered a pair of shoes, went out to get coffee.

my phone rings and its the call back from earlier.
"i have an answer for you. we have it"
me: "cool, thanks"

now i'm done working for the day.
i'm exhausted. I can't deal with this kind of stress.

Well at least you found time to order a pair of shoes... must prioritize.. ya know! ;)

no no sir, i work in an office during the day.
i have a LONG commute too. 5 miles.
 
My day: wake up at 6am (got back into town at 1am). get to work at 8am. find out at 10am that we are being acquired. 10:01 - update resume.

thats too much for me for one day though.
 
YAY! my boss is treating the whole office to frozen yogurt.
probably to reward me for all my hard work.

My typical day is waking up at 6am, catch train at 6:45 to Manhattan, where I take a bus to get to my job at 9... Once it hits 5 I take a bus back to Manhattan to catch either a 5:59 or 6:33 train.. Get in my door at either 7 or 7:30!!!

a. work for your parents.
b. be the only person who knows how to fix the computers, the phone system, the office equipment, the software, and able to move the heavy stuff. then, most days you'll have nothing to do.

8am - arrive with breakfast burrito, spend the next 45 minutes eating it while surfing EF.
9am - change backup tape, done in 60 seconds
10am - bldg fire drill, outside for 30 minutes
10:30 - search for an email my boss wanted (couldn't find it)
10:40 - EF surfing
11:46am - typing this post.

fuck, i'm tired.....lunch at noon, that gives me 6 minutes to figure out what I want. I need an assistant.

thats so funny. I was thinking when i saw your post....what have I done today??? I work for my parents at a computer company - im in the same situation as you! (although i ordered from victorias secret).

funny. I am amused. I thought no one had it as easy as me. :)

LOL--- the shoes i ordered were from victorias secrets... you ARE me!
except, my parents are divorced. its really my mom and her second husband (he's not my biological father).
which of course, makes it more interesting.
