I've been getting good results with upright rows

For the last 3 weeks I've been doing shoulder width grip barbell upright rows 3 sets reps of 10,8,6 all while increasing the weight each set. I do this once a week.

And I can honestly say I've experienced NO shoulder or rotator cuff pain and I've gotten good results. My side, front, and rear delts, mid and lower traps, forearms, and even my biceps have all gotten bigger since I started doing them.

I'm thinking of trying seated dumbell upright rows. Anyone here ever try seated dumbell upright rows?

Just cuz you're not feeling any pain now doesn't mean damage isn't being done. It's one of those sneaky things that slowly builds up.

Were all built differently, personally after loving upright rows for 6yrs im still doing ok :) I owe my traps to them! Have tried the seated DB but didnt like it much. But by all means have a go and report back! Good Luck dude!

P.S Love the name! Rocky Rules!

Seated upright rows?! I can't even picture that.

Upright BB rows are def a good exercise in my book tho, I try to incorporate them into my workout every few weeks.

i tried doing upright rows when i first started lifting. all i got was sore joints.

back when i was hitting the weights hard, i had very thick traps and very nice, round, thick shoulders with no upright rows. i jsut dont see the point in risking that kind of injury for something that doesnt do that great.

I love upright rows too!!!

It seems a bit hit and miss, but with proper form I feel up right rows are an awesome upper body compound movement, I personally have never had any kind of pain from doing them. Tom Platz himself swore by them.

I keep quoting Platz, I must stop doing that, lol.
