free info? sorry but George pays for operating this board. you have every right to bitch but if you had the exspense of operating a business and this is a business wehat would you do? there are other boards that you can use that may have free info but none have the data elite has at it has had and does have the most knowledgeable members. a monthly membership is the price of a biggie sized meal and much better for ya.

if there was a charge for it when the board first opened oh so many years ago, i could understand it. however, this is a new fee. i dont feel i should have to pay for something that i helped create. it would be as if we all contributed to writing a book, and then were charged for a copy of it. once a little fee like this is incured and no one bitches, then what will happen next? i fear the day i have to pay for my screenname. perhaps something could have been done to the effect of having only NEW members pay. i would have even expected to pay then due to the lack of posts i personally have.

I understand what you're saying...yrs ago elite was like all the other boards but as it gained in popularity,now 40 thousand strong new servers are required to handle all this massive bandwidth and that = $$$$$$$$.

Uhh...yeah....but you only contributed 89 sentences to that book.....I have been a member about as long as you.....no need to go platinum IMO.....the new pay features suck....but I guess nothing good in life is free anymore.....

In all fairness...I think George made a very smart move. This will bring in more $$$ to help keep the site up and running...

The only downside to this is going that we are going to see ALOT of newbie posts that could have easily been searched a few weeks ago. George, maybe there needs to be a "Newbie AAS board"???
