Dumper Humper
you parked the damn thing.
If any of you remember, a few weeks ago I posted about my truck being stolen.
It wasn't stolen, I just forgot where I parked it. Forgot that I even drove it that day. For a whole week, I couldn't remember anything about it, except that I remember seeing it that night in front of my house.
Now for the better part of the story. The insurance company gave me three options. First, the truck wouldn't be recovered in 30 days. If that came to be, then I would be reimbursed for the current value of the truck. Second, the truck was recovered, but it was beyond repair. Again, I would be reimbursed for the current value, but the insurance company kept the truck. Third, the truck was recovered, but it was repairable. The insurance covers the cost of the repairs, and I have my truck back.
Since I live in DC, and had no real hope of recovering the truck, and since I was tired of driving the shit box rental, I found a nice 2002 loaded 300M, and bought it.
One week to the day that I reported my truck stolen, I'm driving my new car up a street and see a truck that looks exactly like mine. I think "Hey, somebody has a truck that's like mine, lucky dog." As I get closer, I see the license plate, and immediately think, "Dumb fuck, IT'S MY TRUCK!"
It was just the way I left it, no scratches, no dings or dents. Nothing. Hell, the cops didn't even notice it.
As for the 300M, I turned it back in without penalty, thanks to Carmax.
I need to get my meds adjusted, because this short term memory loss is killing me.
