Israeli bulldozer kills American protester

I'd be curious to hear from the organization that puts these young, impressionable kids up to acting as human shields in war-torn countries. Sure, the girl was a 'legal adult' and accountable for her own actions, but I'm sure there are other parties involved that are using these kids as pawns, just like any other political organization.

Maybe the U.S. should withdraw the $3 billion per year of military aid [welfare] that we give to the State of Israel since Israel seems to think it is ok to also bulldoze American citizens and act like a bunch of NAZIs in the occupied territories. Then they and the Palestinians can have a meaningful fight killing each other brutally in the streets with sticks and clubs and knives and bombs until such time as they ALL get tired enough of it, if ever, they might actually figure out a way to at least TOLERATE the existence of the other and agree to peace because the alternative is worse. Ever since the Bush administration gave the nod to Israel to go ahead and act out on what they really wanted to do, they have shown to me what they are all about. And frankly, the picture is every bit as ugly as the NAZIs behavior in the Warsaw ghetto and elsewhere. They have learned well from their former oppressors. They have now lost my support and I never thought that I would ever come to the point to say this before.

Standing in front of a moving bulldozer that is blatantly not gonna stop is just plain dumb. She would have done better to spend her time studying the whole history of the situation over there before attempting to stop it. Or, if she had thought about it she could have come up with some good ways to stop the dozer.......cut the hydraulics, sugar in the gas etc.

Egypt gets the exact same amount of money. Additionally, at the commencement of the first gulf war,the US forgave all debt to Middle eastern nations except Israel. So in net terms, other Middle eastern nations have gottennearly as much aid as Israel. Egypt has netted more. That's irrelevant to this thread, but you should know your facts before you advocate stopping aid and start calling names.

What we have is basically butchery on both sides. Israel is being attacked by terrorists. So they fight back, viciously. Israel probably kills innocent people and destroys the homes of other innocent people.

Unfortuantely, in the case of fighting terrorists, there is a lot of collateral damage. The US killed 30 people at an Afghani wedding when we were looking for one guy.


Instead of looking for the moral high ground, and trying to get a better world opinion, both sides need to talk about solutions that will work now. Both sides need to stop indicting the other side for the past, and build for the future. How the fuck is a protestor going to stop a 1000 year old war?

If I am a bulldozer driver, and I am fighting an enemy that has tried to kill me, my family and whoever else, I am not going to stop because some girl is in the way. it could be a booby trap, could be a distraction, whatever.

We all miss the reality of the situation when we think that this is a construction site where someone can just stop, get off the bulldozer, get a court injunction and have the girl arrested. In our comparably serene American paradise, we gaze with curiosty whena guy chains himself to a tree. The prperty developer jumps through hoops to not offend anyone, and a compromise is reached.

The Middle east is not America. This bulldozer guy is doing this with tanks watching him so he is not attacked. They don't watch this shit on CNN and say "isn;t that a shame". When a suicide bomb explodes, Isralei's know a victim. when the Israeli Army goes into the west bank and kills 12 people, the families are right there. It is personal to them, and it is the height of American (or in 2thick's case, Canadian) arrogance to think we can go there and just stop their actions.
