Is this thing gonna break..!?

I am strying to get this damn amp open, I am afraid it is going to break in my hand and spill everywhere. Has this every happened to anyone? I scored it with a pretty sharp knife but is scoring even necessary? Because it is not making any scratch marks on the glass and the knife is pretty sharp, and my amps have green lines so that mean I don't need to score it? Help!! I am such a newb i know! Thanks for any help though, I just don't wanna spill this shit, paid too much for it!

yes...scoring is necessary. i've had an amp break on me from not scoring...then again i've cracked amps open with no score too...try a serated knife so that way you know for sure that it's scratching the neck of the amp and just keep at it...also try in the same spot over and over and when you break it go towards the oposite direction of the scratch marks.

personally...i use an amp opener to score and then a pencap to break it off.

I don't score any amps, I just snap 'em off easy.

If you're not strong enough to snap an amp I seriously question if you should be doing AAS at all.

I just did it.. The top broke into a bunch of pieces but the bottom's with the juice is okay.. whew.. A big chunk of glass went in the juice though but I didn't have any problems pulling it out with a 23g.. I just did my first shot ever.. That's some scary shit man.. Hope I did it right, Now that I am looking at this picture it looks a little off from where this guy is putting it... I did it on the outer part of my thigh pretty high up about 75 % of the way from my knee to my hip on the outer part almost behind me. But hell it didn't hurt at all, just worried I got it in a good spot, I aspirate and didn't see anything, it was hard to pull the plaunger back, is that the way it suppose to be? Not even sure if i did that right, man!! Hope I didn't waste this shit!! I'll probably laugh at this in a few dayss, hope so anyway!!

yo div...why would you say something like that? if this bro has never cracked an amp before...than wouldn't it be better to be safe than sorry? sorry meaning...having the thing shatter in his hands or having tiny glass particles in his oil?

i too have cracked amps with no problem but have also cracked a few that cracked very crooked

keep in mind...i respect everything you usually say because you are a knowledged bro...we just cant expext eveybody to be able to do it with the first shot.

some of them have a litte dot ...that's where you should apply the pressure....if not go to the hardware store buy a fine saw... that will do..........

I run mine under hot water first, use a nail file to score it, then a pencap to snap it off. I hold the amp in a washcloth in case it shatters. Am I overly paranoid? Yes, but it's not like the shit grows on trees if you break one, and I'm not keen on a piece of unsterile glass falling into my amp.

Scoring is optional. But I have noticed some amps are more delicate than others and have had them completely disintegrate so I score those. Creatively, Ive even used a folded piece of 100 grit sandpaper. Pic up a file at the hardware store. When they break neat and clean its like a nice top foam on a draft

Div is right on here bros... I used to think the same way, until one day I was like fuck this and just popped the amp. The key is, don't just snap it at a 90 degree angle. As you snap it, go for a 45 degree angle while pulling upward and to the right. Its the easiest thing in the world.
