Is there anyway I can take over my dead grandfathers social security number?

See I have a small criminal record. Nothing too bad just dumb shit that is not a advantage to potential employers.
Is there anyway I can use my grandpas SSN? He died this year.
Figured I will just give his SSN and since my name is the same it might fly.

bad idea. i work for the federal government in canada and i have seen TONS of people get caught for that. it's not worth committing fraud over. you'll get yourself into worse trouble than your "small" criminal record is worth as it is.
