i personally think its cause white people are so uptight.. any thoughts?

its because they are brought up to know that dance is part of life. they dance in there church, at hoime, at house parties. 90% of my school was black and i noticed it is part of their culture. i picked up on it and thats how i learned to dance. its not about race but the culture that you grow up around.

What is it with you and this thing for race threads?

I think it goes way back, their culture. I can dance, I'm not black but I think thats cause of my Native american heritage... I run around the camp fire doing the rain dance at least a few times yearly. :)

Maybe they naturally have more seratonin than whites? ie. You give an ecstasy to just about anyone and they turn into a dance machine:)

haha.. dancing like fucking morons though.. soaked in sweat..

dancing is a byproduct of their physical genetic differences. Being bigger than whites, more athletic, faster, etc.

Same reason asians kick our asses at ping pong. Smaller and thus more adept.

You're talking physical, and yes all the races have physical differences.

got any? :)

It all has to do w/ rythym. Most of us white people have no rythym and don't know how to follow a beat. That's really all it is. Once you learn to move your body to the music right, dancing is easy. And for some stuff you need to learn to be light on your feet. Like the c-walk. I'm not a great dancer but I'm okay, and even when I was a fatty I was always pretty agile and light on my feet

culture and your environment, If you grow up around dance, music ,art ect... you tend to excel in those areas. I`m black and yes I can dance.

i would have to see it to believe. i have heard many a person say "they can dance" and they cant dance for shit. i think it has to do where your from also....like around my area there are a million clubs and bars where people are always dancing...now if i go to hicksvill arkansas ...most of the people have only seen/done the hokey pokey.

damn you dial tone!! I hate your signature, take it down. Every stinkin time I see it I want pancakes!! I'm trying not to eat any and it is hard

About the whole dancing thing, I think it's about being able to let loose and not care about what anyone else thinks about you. That's what it took to get my ass on the floor. I don't consider myself good by any means, but I can cut a rug ;-)

Plus girls always go to the guy that dances, unless you are in my home town, are wearing cowboy boots and have a muddy 4X4 and a case of booze, then they go with that guy

its in their genes

Yes, I was reading "Science Today" magazine and the dancing gene has been mapped and located. LMAO!

lmfao
all you guys are on crack, i hope noone takes you seriously
the older folks in my family had a very strict upbringing; school then chores, job then chores, marriage, move out, own place... and chores. All responsibility all their lives, they've never ever "clubbed" and they don't dance, period. (Maybe slow danced a couple of times). Can't even nod their heads in time.

thanks for a funny thread. GEORGE can i vote for this one??

I dont know if I agree. Depends on your definition of dance.

They just aren´t as composed. They´re less self conscious. they don´t sit or stand or look a certain way because they know people are watching and its an expression they just let it go.

learned behaviour imo. kind of like persian/greek girls moving their hips better than everyone else. sure there might be a few precipitating factors (different cultural propensity between social groups to listen to various sorts of music/participate in various dances and therefore subsequent impact on their dance learning curve eg social groups that listen to music with clear tempo may therefore influence their children to discern beats better) but at the end of the day, people are essentially the same all over the place
