Is there a test level where gains really start to show?

Hey all,..

Done a good deal of searching, and can't seem to find an answer to this question. I realize all things involved are relevant to the gains achieved, but I was curious if there was a level at which gains are significantly increased. Where your efforts are noticeably rewarded with rewards in size and strength.

Can a number even be suggested? Say,.."gains begin to really show if you maintain a level above,...X"

Thanks much and glad to be a part of the boards,..

test levels are a range, kind of like blood pressure ranges.
last time i got bloodwork done the normal range for test levels was on a 260-1560 scale or something. so if your t level was below 260 that was considered low.

superdave,..
Thanks for the reply. I'm very familiar with the way test levels are measured. I'm one of us old folks on HRT. Have been the last few years. Had my ups and downs,..have a doc. that's not completely tuned in from what I can tell.

I'm looking for information in regards to the levels that are achieved, while doing a "Cycle". I have not come across this information in all my searching to date anyway. I'm very curious, as I am lifter, and over the past three years, I have completely changed my lifestyle and my body. I'm diabetic as well,...so I have a couple of issues aside from being old,...:) 47 by the way.

I don't plan on doing any "Cycles" as my bloodwork would show it, and my doc would flip. He has taken me completely off injections for a couple of months last year, with no hcg or anything to help me in th mean time...:( "That will never happen again".

Long story short. I'm very proud of the gains I have made as a lifter, and have become more curious as to whether my dedication to training and diet is why I have transformed, or if I have been reaping rewards from the HRT. My levels have been a bit higher than the normal range a couple of times, but nothing out of sight,..

Again, just looking for what kind of levels a cycle creates,..

Thanks all,...>>>--->

since blood levels are measured on a nl/dl scale, and cycles are measured many times bigger than that on a mg/ml scale i would think a typical 200mg/wk dose of HRT would definetely contribute to gains.

by the way I was thinking about HRT myself, at age 34 my Test levels are 292 on a 262-1593 scale and I would think an HRT program of around 200mg of test cyp prescribed of course, would be very beneficial for me. I have had energy levels drop off, concentration, general lethargy for life type stuff going on and cant help but wonder if its because of the test level. So let me ask you since you are on HRT, how has it improved your life? HAs energy, mental acuity, concentration, type stuff been improved?

Wow. I have never seen a chart that had the test range top out at over 1500ng/dl. Highest in my experiences were 11-something and more commonly, 850 or so.

I like your chart better.

superdave,..

You have listed a few of the classic symptoms,..292 is towards the lower end,...If you have a doc, that is understanding of the problem, and actually understanding of the hRT, you should have a good chance at arranging treatment, I would think. It seems some doc's are hesitant, and others are all for it.

I'm with jhondo on the range though. I have never seen one that high. I wish it were so however,..:) Thing is, with constant high levels,...come more side effects. The worse being your red cell count getting too high, which makes your blood thick, and can cause clotting issues, as well as stroke,...I have this problem myself. I make a regular whole blood donation as often as I can,.."Every 56 days" .

As far as results of HRT for me,..In general,..Yes,..Quality of life and general well being all improved. Getting my test levels back up where they belong has made a significant difference in my life for sure. A clean meal plan and solid training protocols help as well. Use it or lose it,...

ive personally seen huge differences when 1.5 to 2 grams are taken. its a different level of growth. i wouldnt recommend it though and would never do it myself.

Hmm,..Well that sounds like a LOT to me. I have never done a "Cycle" so I'm not use to seeing numbers like that. I would guess I have never experienced what it feels like to train heavy and see gains come at an accelerated rate.

I have seen reference to levels 3/4/5 times normal,...I can't imagine,..!

Thanks for the info,..
