Is the AK-47 a good gun?

After playing counter strike for several months, I'm totally in love the the AK used in the game ( "Assassin", or whatever it's called). Incacurate as hell, but I really like shooting people with it.

How does is stack up in real life, compared to say an M-16?

in james bond for 64 its a pretty dencet gun but nothing compares to the RCP-90!

In my opinion they suck.
I would feel more secure with an m-16.But alot more secure with an armalite .50cal!

AK-47 are discontinued since many years
and yes they do have grenade laucnhers on them

They are reliable, but accurancy is quite poor in hand of a normal jo blo!


I hate the tac tac tac three rounds burst they do especially when fired at me

THE AK47 IS A EXCELLENT WEAPON. IT CAN BE DROPPED ON ROCKS, SUNK IN MUD, RAINED ON AND STILL FUNCTION FLAWLESSLY. MANY ARAB AND THIRD WORLD COUNTRIES STILL FIGHT WITH 20 YEAR OLD OR OLDER WEAPONS WITH NO PROBLEMS EXCEPT THEIR FIGHTING SKILLS SUCK. YES THEY ARE ACCURATE, MAYBE NOT QUITE AS ACCURATE AS THE M16 BUT LESS THAN HALF THE PRODUCTION PRICE.

was the ak47 in goldeneye??? The only thing I can remember that was close was the kalishnikov or something like that, but they didn't call it an ak47. But you couldn't beat doubled up ar33's or better yet doubled up moonraker lasers........now that dog 'll hunt!!!

The kalishnikov they describe is the same thing as the AK-47.

Not very accurate, rugged, and a cheap, ample supply of ammunition out there for it...

the ak-47 and all variants(chinese mac90, bulgarian, romanian, hungarian etc) are all fine weapons. They are among the most dependable ever used in battle---much more dependable than the 'pretty' m-16 or ar-15.

For years now the m16 has been considered the best battle rifle in the world.

Ever change a fukkin clip on a AK!

It sucks balls!!!!!!!!!!! Major big time......ever use the safety...if you wanta call it that....ever try and hit a target at 250 yards forget about it...the sights don't adjust for left right...windage is a joke.....

I can drop my clip on the 16 and never take my finegr off the trigger or the barrle pointed at the target. It is such a good design that it just a part of your body.

Once you lock the bolt on a m16 round you never take your finger of the trigger.

Also...all that crap about sand in the m16.....it went thru the storm and i have never heard anyone complain about its function.


The ak is a cheap hard hitting gun....just what it was designed for......produced by the millions...to give to solider that were numbers...we want our boys to have the best! The M16 is one...I can scan a dozen mag articles that say that.

PS...I like my AK...I love my AR15

i know the m16 fires .223 caliber (.223 inch in diameter) bullets & the ak47 fires 7.62mm (.30 inches).

the m16 was designed because the bullets are smaller (you can carry more of them), and because the tiny bullets prevented recoil. so you could aim better.

why do gang members love the ak & uzi? i never hear of a gang member with an M16. are they harder to get or something.

the ak only fires at about 1800 f.p.s., compared to most other rifles which fire at 2900 f.p.s. (this is all memory. i don't know the exact stats).
