about inaccuracies in reporting crimes etc were overblown during and after the evacuation were complete and utter bullshit designed to sugarcoat the whole deal and present the whole issue in a better light so tourists wouldnt be afraid. I was there after the storm for almost all 'the fun' and saw first hand things very differently. The media has not known of 1/3 of what those precious little darlings did to both each other and innocents before and after and hopefully they never will....6dead? please. It was not in anyway nice,nor indicative of how human beings live,trust me when i tell you animals live and treat each other better. Rapes,abuse of juveniles,sexual assualt,murder,beatings,shootings, stabbings,robbery,generally acting like an animal and other little gems of fun,they were all there. Do not under any circumstances believe what you read about it now. Now its all about damage control and hopefully getting himself reelected,although now its a longshot. The town needed economic recontruction , not catagory 4 hurricane. Nagin can provide that if given the chance , but yes. Now all who lived in the ninth, lower ninth have been forced out of thier homes , nagin's chances of re-election are slim to none. I'm not in agreement with the right wings criticism of local officials since as you say , it's all about damage control.
Anyway You know as well as I do the corruption in that town from the top.

I'll agree with most of what you said , especially the damage control part but some of your finger pointing I feel is misguided , especially coming from the NOPD. I could talk for a few days just on that situation starting from the defections. They swore to 'serve and protect" Serve who I guess is the question...

the defections in the NOPD...well thats pathetic,but the dept has been in a serious downtrend,mostly becasue of the idiotic residency requirement and lowering hiring standards and academy standards to the lowest common denominator in order to better reflect "the culture" of the city...ie lets pass up qualified applicants at any expense so we can have as many black faces in a uniform as possible so we in charge can look like freidsn of the community when in reality we dont give a shit and we just wanna appease the "ministers" who come out of the woodwork with monday morning quaterbacking and making everything a racial incident to line their own pockets .....there are/were officers on that force that shouldnt be rolling toilet paper on cardboard much less being the police....they dont posess the intelligence,physical skills,character or anything else to be in law enforcement but they're railroaded thru with a sliding scale of standards to meet quotas.............in short.....shit in,shit out........then people wonder why you see some of these worthless pieces of crap stealing tv's,running like cowards unable to keep the oath they swore,and just generally being incompetent....not a hard thing to figure out. out of those that left,i do think when all is said and done a couple will turn up dead because they drowned etc,and the rest should be exposed for being the cowards they are and exiled from law enforcement back to burger king where they belong.
