I'm having a hard time posting from work. Diggs is on it, until then, it's going to be hard for youse to rejoice on the gloriousness emanating from my posts. I can read though, but there is no fun in reading without posting.

Locking threads after they are there for hours is not fun, the kills need to be fresh, like that one thread Lestat bumped...

BAM!, 3 minutes later it was locked and dead (damn, did that feel good, it made my whole week, for a guy that has sex once every 4 years that is a highlight)

I tee hee myself to death.

anyone who gets that much enjoyment out of locking threads, or locks a thread simply so others don't complain about some sort double standard is a total douche in my book.

It's OK lessyboy, If I lock it (because It's 2 years old and I locked yours because it was old too) I'm a douche

on a serious note, maybe we should have a discussion with mods/admin participating on the merits of locking old bumped threads.

they're part of EF history, EFicana so to speak. sometimes current discussions reference past events or threads or past members.

its like killing a part of the collective past of the board.

for why? whats the downside of letting them be?

and locking simply so someone doesn't cry foul is lame, you must see that?

bumping old threads to be annoying is lame, I think everyone agrees on that.

but there are PLENTY of older threads that can be relevant a year or two later, its strange to me that somehow once someone gets the moderator title they all of a sudden can't understand that.

as for the one you "don't remember" lol, yeah

Agree on the relevance of olders, however, in C&C, there is hardly anything that is relevant for longer than a couple of hours.

If this was diet or roids (for example, I NEVER lock an old diet thread, because those are relevant). Actually, anything but C&C is not time-bound. A diet is a diet is a diet, a cycle is a cycle. A joke you told 2 years ago is not funny today, specially since 70% of the posters in the thread are not longer here (this is an example, btw, not referencing anything in particular)

I have been on here what, 5+ years now? I know sometimes I like to dig up an old thread just to see how different I was at some point, or maybe an old situation comes up again and I updated it, or maybe I just had a really funny joke (like the car wash) that continues to cause laughs.

I can understand why a thread would be locked if it was one of many that were bumped for some silly inane reason, but simply locking a thread because it was created a year or two ago is lame.

apparently, digger and brr and GS decided that pintoca is better at deciding what consititutes "inane" than others may be. don't hate on him cause of that.
