Does everyone subscribe by the no fats/carbs in the same meal? I think my diet is on point, just not sure since I train in the evening if I should have pro/fats or carbs in my 2nd meal::

granola
cottage cheese

ORRR

cottage cheese and almonds? Which is optimum for lean mass gains? Considering I have 2 more meals before I train and sit in an office all day.

Thanks@

I never mix carbs and fats in the same meal.. I train in the evening as well.. My 1st PWO meal is around 125g Dextrose and 60g Whey. My 2nd PWO meal which is 1.5 hours later is about 120g carbs from yams or brown rice with 60g of protein from fish, chicken, turkey.

I dont believe your body knows the hours of the day. I do believe that after hard training it needs proper nourishment. So all those carbs will be used to rebuild. I have been doing this for a few years and Im not holding or gaining fat. My first 4 meals of the day I alternate protein and flax or pro carbs..

Johns theories still stand today. I follow them and have maintained a better physique because of them

Those are outdated theories, fats and carbs can be combined in the same meal without a problem.

Im tending to agree...although it does help me precontest dieting.....think it 's more of caloric restriction than anything else.

High carbs meals promote insulin release, ans insulin promotes fat absorption and accumulation.

This explanation makes his principles stand still.

You should it little fat, anyhow. Altough fat cant be 100% eliminated, nor you will find a healthy diet with 0% fat.

Exactly. I tend to keep fat below 5g in every C+P meal, and carbs below 10g in every F+P meal. You don't want a significant insulin response when you're eating fat. (There's nothing wrong with having tons of vegetables with P+F meals though.)

Breakfast, 2 PWO shakes and 1 or 2 meals after that tend to be P+C. Then, the last 3 meals of the day are P+F. It's worked great for me over the last few years.

Obviously there's nothing wrong with having some rice, vegetables and a nice steak when you're at a restaurant, but I do believe that eating according to his principles MOST of the time is very helpful. When I'm at home, for example, I would never combine something like raisins, nuts and protein powder. Though I'm not gonna say no to the occasional cake my girlfriend bakes me. :p

Enjoy life, but don't be a fucking pig. ;) That's my philosophy.
