Is it standard practice to keep dropping calories throughout a pre-comp diet?

I thought dropping calories was a no-no, because it just drops your metabolism MORE. I thought one should do more cardio/weight training to burn more calories if you're stalling.

But on a lot of BB'er's sites where they list their diets they always start out kind of high, then drop cals by 200 or so every few weeks.

Any opinions?

Depends if they're natural. Usually they go from bulking to maintenence level, then drop. But they make drops from 5000 cals/day down to 4000/day and so on. Gradually.

im 4 weeks from a show there,s no way i am coming under 3500 cals per day

i weigh 103 kg they say for cutting do your bodyweight by 12 that puts me at 2700 cals per day no way for me im holding my size very well and skin fold is very low . i have lost 2 kg in 10 weeks and on contest day i will come in maybe the same weight ripped to the max . train wisely eat high ,control your weight with your cardio , you dont have to go hard out as all you need to do is get your body into a themo state for 30 - 45 mins at a time

good luck :D
