In my experience, it is not addictive - meaning your body has physical withdrawal symptoms when you don't get it,
but yes, it is easy to become mentally dependant - wanting it, using it daily, going to work stoned, being stoned all the time.
There are whole years that I just vaguely remember in a fog.
I finally had to quit in order to have a life.
If I have the stuff around, I'll smoke every day till it's gone, and it makes me reclusive and withdrawn.
I don't seem to be able to handle it responsibly the way I can alcohol.
I can have a bottle of alcohol in the house and ignore it till a special occasion, and then have just a few drinks and put the rest away for later.
I can't do that with grass.
