Is it me or do most strippers have emotional problems?

agreed. but then or who do it as just a job seem to really be the minority and some of them even get sucked into the lifestyle.

I won't disagree with this statement. It can be very easy to get "sucked in" if you start to believe that ANYTHING that goes on at work is "real". None of it is. IT IS JUST A JOB; an extremely bizaare one at that.

Decem - I really don't think that anything that I said on this thread qualifies me as being "cuckoo". Please quote a singular comment I made that would put me in this category. I am not saying that I don't have a singular screw loose, but that is a different matter altogether. I am talking about my comments on THIS particualr thread.

After SEVEN HOURS of dancing in THE MOST God-awful shoes and what amounts to the teeny-weeniest bikini on the planet, if I walk out w/$300 I am very satisfied.... $200 is slow but still acceptable. There have been more than a few occasions when I have made LESS THAN THAT - sometimes WITH PAY. So now, who was saying something about a Lexus? In the eighties I heard that YES, it was VERY POSSIBLE for a DANCER - WITH CLOTHING ON - to make $1,000 p/night.... but those days are LOOOOOOOONG gone.

Oh yeah. Plenty of times I have left with around 100........
Everyone thinks we make so much damn $$$

Like I have read many a times on this thread, everyone has problems, some people have more than others.
Some women are OK with nudity: to them it is not a big deal.
Some women do it JUST for the money, nothing else. They have families at home and are dancing to support themselves and/or their family.
Some women DO have emotional problems and take their jobs WAY TOO FAR. (hooking up with many 'clients,' etc)

There is a wide spectrum of women who dance exotically and each person is different, resulting in different behaviors.
Point being that there is no generalization or stereotype that can be applied to strippers, or anyone else.

there are tons of hot chicks that could make a killing dancing topless. they could make much more money, and have way more free time. but they dont.

stop and think about why a hot girl would work two jobs just to have enough money to buy groceries for her kids and allow them to have health insurance. she is so busy working to suppory them she hardly has any time to see them. why not just get on stage and shake your tits in some guys face for $20.00?

economics may play a part in deciding whether or not to strip, but ultimately its a moral decision.

i highly doubt that. the percentage of strippers that make a grand a night is probaly very low. its more like what alexiarenee said.

one of my friends strips, at a good club, and its not a grand a night.

Sorry. But making $333 in one night isn't shabby either. But most of the dancers I know make more than that on a usual night. $500 is the average, but $1000 is VERY common.

your arguement is that just because they make alot of money and drive a lexus that they are happy. the fact is, is that typically the type of individual that does this for a living, has problems. (previous family problems, drug problems, etc,). your not considering the thousands of run down joints where its a dive. there are alot more of those than the upscale gentlemens clubs.

of course there are exceptions.

Sure money doesn't always equal happiness. But it sure does help doesn't it? Think about it. Do I need psychological problems to want to have more money? Or drug problems? Your view on this seems a little discriminatory.

so before you start making guarantee's, and comments on how dumb this thread is, get your facts straight, this thread was about strippers that have emotional baggage, not that money can make you happy.

Where's the guarantee I made? In my eyes this is still a dumbass thread. Calling people trash for what they do, when it does no harm to others is stupid. I haven't met a person that hasn't had "emotional baggage"(I HATE that term). Threads like this are right up there with all the racist bullshit thread as of late...

it may be very common if the girls you know all work at a very upscale gentlemens club. theres two girls that have posted on here that tell you it aint so, not a 1000 a night.

my view on this is from experience, most strippers that i know lead a very lifestyle. drugs, single parenting, lesbiasism. and then when you get to know them, they usually have previous family problems with thier parents.

i think your getting confused though, no where did i say that i disapprove of it or look down on it.

the thread is called "is it me or do most strippers have emotional problems". i dont think anybody here is calling them trash, im not. and second, i believe if you looked at the percentages of strippers that have problems compared to the percentage of women that work as a bank teller, you would find that it would be very different. which is what the thread is trying to ask. there is a difference.

p.s. as far as your gaurentee, you said "i gaurentee most of you dont know strippers like you say you do".

Where in my post did I say anything about ALL? I think it is clear that I said NOT all. You know, kind of like not ALL juiceheads have the IQ of a cricket?!

No, I was just making a joke. The post was soaking in curses and YELLING, and I thought it was an ironic way to scold us for our prejudice that strippers have "issues."
