There were some brochures about internet addiction in one of the offices on campus I was in. Got me thinking if I am an internet addict or not. I dont think I am since, you know, I can quit anytime I want.

Not even joking, but I read a few articles where people who are openly accepted and "do well" on chat forums can actually improve their "real-life" social skills.

So basically needto still sucks at life.

dame it swole.I told you to keep my name and my dick out of youre mouth. :rainbow:

i read a couple of articles on it, so i suppose the term has been coined

i think its silly though - its kind of like being addicted to reading. personally i prefer the net over other forms of printed media because of its versatility and scope. people who talk about 'internet addiction' are probably 60 year old people who dont use the net to its full potential, imo

swole, i agree with what you said, by the way...i noticed that ive been snappier in conversations since using bulletin boards...though have been known to call people 'bor' now and again ;)

I couldn't kick the habit.

I plugged in the ethernet cord intravenously into the nic card on the back of the computer, and man, after that, I was buzzin hardcore. Fuckin 1000 mb/s and shit, yo. Totally just blowing my mind. I am finding there to be side effects occuring more often. I'm losing sleep, not eating enough so I'm losing weight....omg, what have I gotten myself into...

not sure how conversing in cyber space would improve 'real-life' social skills as face to face interaction is so much more complex but compared to couching it in front of the TV for hours at least the internet chat room user is exercising some gray matter

A digital addiction can sap your attention span, conversation skills, critical thinking and ability to relate to others. Fortunately, unlike some more addictive substances, it's easy to break on through.

They just opened up the first internet addiction facility in the US. Costs $14,000 and insurance won't ccover it yet because they don't see internet addiction as an issu.e Little do they know a big part of the unemployment rate in the US is due to internet addicts who lost their job, got addicted to the internet and don't want to lok for a new job that pays near minimum wage even with a college degree

bro send me the $5,000 i'll come over rip your router out of the fuckin wall and hulk smash all your electronic devices. You just saved 9,000 and your problem is solved.

you're welcome.
