it truly is a shame...Im not condoning what he said..but there is a little thing in this country call freedom of speech and they have taken that away...Anyone has the right to say anything they want...offensing racist or not...I hear white jokes on the black radio stations everyday..and none of those DJ's are fired so why this time...Rev Al should be shot and assraped with barb wire

Who really gives a fuck about what Imus said. Shit is WAY overblown.
As for why can rappers etc... get away with it? Same reason jews can make jokes about other jews. As for blacks making jokes about whites, you have to look it like a class/power system (if that makes sense). People who I manage (black and white) can poke fun at me in certain ways that I can't with them. Blacks as a race don't have near the social economic power as whites. Yeah it might be B/S...
Also, why do a lot of white people CRAVE to use the word nigger anyway?? Some act like they are using out on a privilege because it's not acceptable for them to use the word. It's almost like one kid being jealous of anoter over a piece of candy.

So there are like TWO N-words now that white people can't say b/c of the amount of melanin pigmentation in their skin?
I need some clarification on words that can't be said and I also need a pigmentation level as well as to who can say it. We don't want some light skinned black person not dark enough thinking they can use these words.

one of my family members is a member of the Grand Havana Room in NYC. It's a super exclusive cigar bar on the 50th floor of a building in midtown manhatten.
