Hey y'all, I'm 25 years old 5'9 162lbs, I've been weightlifting since I was 14, I've always been fascinated by bodybuilders and it's lifestyle. I started Bodybuilding or attempting to last year around October. I've put on 17lbs since February, I'm fairly muscular. My question is, am I barking up the wrong tree? What if I can't put on anymore weight and I'm just kidding myself? Am I genetically blocked from obtaining a bodybuilding physique? I'm getting really discouraged and just looking for advice from anyone who knows of the bodybuilding lifestyle. Thanks

well you have three things going against you

1. in 11 years you have made it to 165

2. you weigh 165

3. well i guess just two things

but yes a high chance you are not going to make it. just make it a hobby and have fun working out bor

What are you ultimately looking to attain through bodybuilding?

well i didn't read it detailed enough. if you have just put on 17 lbs in a month, but been lifting 11 years, wtf have you been doing in the last 11 years?

Yea probably best to just give up on the whole idea. You dont stand a chance

I know I'm never going to be an IFBB pro or anything like that but I would like to be 180lbs ( the most I've ever been was 175 but had my gallbladder removed) and compete in one contest just to say I had an outstanding body and I done it. And it is a hobby of mine I do not intend on doing this professionally, so for all you naysayers and people who want to make fun or put me down, shove it I'm just looking for advice and help.

Earth rider I haven't been bodybuilding the last 11 years shit for brains, I said I've been weightlifting. Just enough to stay in shape try and read before you critique my post

That's why I posted bc I was in chat, where do I post this then? And as far as failing at everything I'm 25 and I make $93,000 a year, don't really need to achieve anything else

Then just buy implants everywhere and look ripped from head to toe.

To your credit, it didn't take you long to figure GirthRider out.

That's got to count for something.

Hard to say. What is your diet like? Are you eating enough of the right foods? What's a typical day like for meals/calories? What's your lifting regimen consist of?
