my employer is the federal government, so my view point may be slanted............
the pale male is the new "minority"!
because of "priority status hiring"; most of the recent job promotions have gone to anyone except a white male. education, senority and on the job experience are minor, trivial factors when it comes to promotion within the government.
every month, we receive a federally paid for newsletter from B.I.G. aka Blacks In Government. a suggestion was made to start an alternate newsletter called W.I.G., Whites In Government. it was shot down as being "racist".
we are inundated with black history month, pacific islander month, EEO complaints concerning females and minorities. a female can call in sick for days at a time because of "female problems" with no repercussions, but if a man calls in sick management demands a doctor's excuse.
one side of the fence calls their actions "solidarity" but loudly screams "racism" if any decison does not go their way.
most of the time, at my job site the only "minority" is a pale male. quite often the work force is composed entirely of "minorities". the "minorities" have become the "majority"!!
i hope i can hold out long enough to qualify for early retirement.
