whats memorial day?
nefertiti said:My pain killers wore off and I am WIDE awake and can't take another for an hour. Someone keep me company, dammit.
avidinternet said:Why are you taking painkillers? What did you hurt?
nefertiti said:Dammit...I forgot the england thing. I might take a job that would have me traveling to england or china once every month and a half.
Memorial day is a holiday in the US at the end of may to commemerate those who have died in service...it's also the unofficial start of summer.
Oceano said:You should really take that job if its a cool job because both places are worth visiting. What does it entail, investment banking?
We have our memorial day in November, its a pretty big thing, where the nation stops for a minute's silence.
nefertiti said:It's a position within the firm I currently work for, but I'd be regularly bouncing around our various offices. Those are the two international locations I would visit the most, and there would be tons of domestic travel as well. I'm thinking about it HARD, but being on the road that much seems kind of lonely.
Oceano said:Where would you be located, London? How long would you have to stay on the road?
Personally, I would think that sort of opportunity would be too good to pass up.
avidinternet said:I don't see why you'd have to wait the hour. If they wore off now and you are awake again and in pain, I'd take one now and go back to sleep.
nefertiti said:London, and in China, Shanghai. I'd probably be traveling domestic 3-4 days a week and my international trips would be like a week. I'm sort of leaning toward the "too good to pass up" too, but we'll see. I have a couple of months to decide.
Oceano said:U work in investment banking right? how long did it take you to study for the position?

I remember seeing them as a youngster in Jersey circa 1971biteme said:Just watched a documentary on the Harlem Globetrotters. Those guys were amazing.
