I hired a trainer when I first started working out, so that I could get familiar with the equipment. It's really not in our budget since I am a SAHM and we live on one modest salary. I have a few things I do from home on the side, so when I get a bit extra I was paying for additianal sessions.
All that said, Eric (the trainer) hit on me hard the other night when we were chatting. We weren't at the gym and I had called him for source info for hubby. So, he wasn't doing anything ethically wrong....
Anyway, I told hubby what happened, and of course he doesn't want me talking to Eric anymore. I am respecting his wishes, which leaves me without a trainer.
I have the basics down. The only think I might need guidance on is when to increase my weights, and how to get over any plateaus. And if I decide to compete, I would of course look for a trainer with some experience in that area.
So is going without a trainer ok for someone relatively new to bodybuilding? I really don't want to move to another trainer at my gym... it would just lead to drama that I don't need.
