Is 12 percocet a lot?

LOL, what a great question. I know of a perc that you could only take half of one. I don't care who is who or who thinks they know what is up. I did a half and was crisp and well...... it made me sick but it felt good to toss my cookies all over the bathroom.

Tell us the dosage you are taking.

If they're x/500's I'd be most worried about all the tylenol this person was consuming....6 grams isnt enough to shred a liver, but throw in some other stuff that likes the same p450's and it starts to get sucky

Watch for constricted (pinpoint) pupils, lowered pulse, lowered blood pressure, lowered body temperature. A neat trick, if someone shines a small light on one of your eyes, just enough to illuminate the orbit, you may say hippus. It is kind of cool to see, it is a reflexive pulsing of the pupil when exposed to a light stimulus. It isn't always going to show up but it is a tell tale sign of opiate use, especially in large enough doses. Twelve percocet may not be alot for someone who frequently uses opiates. For someone who doesn't take them that often, it seems like alot.

Yah it sure aint me taking them so I dont know the dose. I just want to know if I should be worried about the person. I think they started about 2 months ago with a script for back pain and got hooked like real fast. The script was for one a day if that helps.

If it were the day after a car accident or major surgery it would be acceptable, but two months out, they're not takin it for pain.

Problem is with any opiate, you develop a tolerance real quickly and constantly have to up the dosage to get the desired high.

what is the most you have seen a friend take or get hooked on.
and is it easy to kick this habbit? or I should say, how hard is it?

I have a friend right now who pops opiate pills like they are candy. He will do a handful at a time. Granted, he has been doing this for years. In addition to the opiates, he smokes a ton of pot, uses cocaine, treats benzos the same way he treats opiates, and throws a few beers on top of it. I don't see him kicking the habit anytime soon. The problem is with opiates (heroin, codeine, vicodin, percocet, opium) once you reach a certain point, you need to keep taking them just to keep from getting sick, not even high. Ever seen the movie "Trainspotting" or "drugstore cowboys". Pretty accurate depictions of the life of a herion or opiate addict. I can always tell when my friend has been taking alot of opiates. When he takes them, he is "on the nod". He will be mid-sentence while sitting in a chair in fromt of me and then he will look like he is either falling or has fallen asleep. He got a real bad leg injury when he was younger that completely altered his way of walking. Now he has arthritis in both of his ankles and both his knees. He had to have replacement surgery on both his knees not to long ago. He will go through a bottle of thirty vicodin in about one or two days, when he has a script. He prefers vicodin but will take anything he can get ahold of, oxycontin, morphine, drug store heroin, you name it. Honestly, it is rare for me to ever not see him fucked up. How hard is it? I can tell you some people have to be hospitalized when they stop taking pain pills. They can get really, really, sick.

i would intervene if its your friend. a friend of mine died a few months ago from a heroine OD and he started out on pain meds. my friends sister 6 days later same deal. and i have no clue where my cousin is last i heard he was arrested trying to rob an 80 year old woman for heroine money. again ill say if you care about this person get him/her help before you have to wish that you had.

Holy crap yes it is. After my BA I was taking 2-3 a day and I was pretty much zoomed out of my mind 12 seems like way to much maybe leathel?

Moderate dose..............................for a Horse.

Update:
Buddy has been hooked on this shit for 8-9 months now and he's turned into a compulsive liar and somewhat paranoid and toss in that I think he's also now a psychopath.

This far in the game they all become liars. They will tell you they are better when they are not, they will say they are clean when not, and they will LIE.
Good luck, drug abuse is the silent killer of more than just the user!

Percocet is oxycodone mixed with APAP(tylenol). It comes in 5 mg pills. So 12, 5 mg pills=60 mg. It is a high dose for someone opiate naive, but not for someone who is a real chronic pain patient or addict. Oxycodone (Brand name Oxycontin) comes in 10,20,40,60, and 80 mg SINGLE pills, so the 60mg dose isnt unheard of or anything. He is fucking his liver though.

sounds like something a paramedic would do :p

I was taking 4 at once after my surgery and that was probably 3 times per day. I only did it for a week until the script ran out. IMO if he has an addiction I bet he is taking much more than that.

why do you crackers know so much aboot prescription drugs?

what beaverscratch said is correct. percocet typically come in 5 or 10mg pills with 325mg acetaminophen each. a 60-80mg oxy per day habit is very common and could result in moderate withdrawal symptoms depending on their physiology.

i deal with chronic pain and have taken all but a handful of opiate types that are currently being manufactured. it can turn into a problem very quickly (duh.) but the major issue is when the user decides what theyre taking is no longer strong enough and goes in search of more potent or non-pharma quality opiates.

Unfortunately this topic I know all to well. I hit rock bottom when I was around 22 from prescription pills. I still do them about everyday however nothing like I used to. I have never drank much and dont smoke so it was always my get away.
Not to get into my saga to answer your question.
A normal person will experience euphoria off of one to two percocet. So yes 12 is a shit load to the average person. To me when I was in my prime if ya wanna call it that. I would take twelve to maintain. The tolerance for opiates grows by the day and before ya know it you got a hundred dollar a day habit. I would do two twenty mg oxy at once four times a day or better. Not to mention xanax mixed in all the time.
Anyways be there for your friend he is in trouble bro I hate to say it.

Actually the guy screwed me so I can no longer be his friend. His lies are not about the pills but about everything else related to our business relationship.

He left me a number of death threats on my voice mail which I might have to take to the cops.

dudes, managing pain when recovering from something (surgery, injury, etc) is vital.
but i think we're talking about recreational use here, which I dont condone.

i dont like pain pills anyway, they make me itch.
