iPod Question, plus some other stuff

First, summer is kicking my arse. It is so flipping hot here. I went running this morning at 6:30 (an hour later than normal) and it was already a gazillion degrees. I wanted to run 4 miles, but only ran 3 because I was already so hot and thirsty. Ugh. Running at 5:30 is actually much nicer. *blah* But had a good run anyway!

Second, should I buy an iPod Nano or Shuffle? lol I want the Nano, but will use it 99.9% of the time to workout and the Shuffle is SOOOOOOO small and easy to wear. Decisions decisions.

Third, only ONE MORE WEEK IN THE SCHOOL YEAR! YAY! My last day is Monday 7/16 ... then I am off work until August 22nd! Woooooooo-who! Maybe finally I can get my diet in order and get some freaking sleep. My workouts have been great, but diet sucks bootie. Might post some progress pictures soon, even though I am still far from where I want to be, there is a lot of progress I have made.

Fourth, my daughter is so big. She will be 18 months on Friday. Oh my, she is so stinking cute.

I say go with a Nano you can get a clip or an arm band for it. The shuffle has no menu on it so if your trying to chose what you want to listen to it is a pain in the ass.

The running part good luck with that my ass only runs when someone chases me.

True - that is the one thing I don't like about the Shuffle. It is just so darn small! I love it!

I've never had a Nano myself, but DO have the pink shuffle....I LOVE it!! I personally don't care about seeing a display screen of what's playing, so that doesn't bother me. But it cost $78 and it holds a TON of songs....I got an armband for mine that's black velcro & soft so it can be washed....it's very light also.

Jens - do you get songs from iTunes or somewhere else? Right now, I download to my MP3 player (a Rio) from Limewire for free, but might switch to pay at iTunes because I think that going to jail for illegal downloads would really suck.

Well, I doubt you'd go to jail...you'd just have to pay a fine from what I understand....

And I've downloaded so much stuff since before the crackdown, I haven't really downloaded much lately, but I haven't bought anything.....When I do download nowadays, the music downloads into a folder on the hard drive & then I just put it in Itunes via importing the song or the whole folder....

I am not a fan of the fines either, lol. I just downloaded iTunes and all my songs are imported in there now. Hopefully, I will buy some sort of iPod next weekend.

My $0.02 - I had the original shuffle and got the new smaller one & I love it. It has sufficiently many songs of my favs for training that I need as well as some potential posing routine things that I like to run thru. I don't listen to it anywhere else so I don't need "bigger". I just clip it on my shirt - I can't abide by shit on my arms because well, my biceps are too big for one, but I sweat so damn hard it just gets slimy & soaked.

I vote Shuffle - its cheap & sufficient - and in the gym I just can't deal w/ a heavy "thing" on me. I just need the music.

Sass - that is why I want the Shuffle. It is SO small and clips to anything. I DO really like the screen on the Nano, but in all honesty, I would just be using the iPod for working out so I wouldn't be really looking at the screen anyway - it would just be a nice bonus.

I like the smaller pricetag on the Shuffle, along with the smaller size. Esp since I am also looking into buying a Garmin Forerunner GPS watch for my runs, which has a hefty price. I would rather spend the $$ there if I choose to get one. Plus, I need new shoes, new workout clothes ...... Momma gotta go spend some cashola.

IMO the Shuffle is completely sufficient. You can always ask for the Nano for xmas or just expect the price to drop by then. It really just "makes" my trip to the gym. I carry enough crap around between my gloves, belt, straps, water.

Oh yea - I also have about 3/4 of my songs ripped off CDs I already own and the rest I get off iTunes.

I agree with Sassy!!! In everything!!!
I have the original suffle it is great something like 100 songs, and M has the new tiny shuffle and loves it for running long distance and also bike...
I also have the 80G ipod and would never ever take it HEAVIER than my thihgs...
About nano...nah...It bounces around like it needs a special bra!

I download from limewire too, and no problem..
I like to use real player for adding and deleting songs much much better IMO than itunes!

I have the mini (they dont even make it anymore) if I were to buy a new one I would go for the shuffle. I find that I wasted a lot of time looking at the stupid screen looking for a certain song or band at least with the shuffle, you turn it on and go, no fuss!

Ive also got the Nano with the Nike running chip and I love it. Isnt the Nano pretty much the same size/weight as the shuffle?
my nano is about the size of a credit card, only thicker.

I second in this entirety...I never could stand strapping the ipod onto my arm..for me, it was too distracting..the shuffle is so so easy to clip on- I clip it onto my pants at my hip...it even can clip onto the reading rack or bottle holder of a cardio machine..It holds 240 songs or something like that, so you will always have room...Like Sass, I use mine just for the gym, so no need to have anything more fancy than one that plays my tunes...and once people know you have one,they can buy you gift cards to ITunes..I got three for Christmas...Good luck, Daisy!!

I got a Shuffle yesterday and LOVE it so far. It is so flipping small! Worked awesome on my run this morning, plus worked great in the gym yesterday.

iTunes is not the best for uploading songs, a bit cumbersome, but will use it for now. I like Limewire better (and it is "free").

Also bought a new pair of running shoes Saturday - love them. Feels so much better on the legs/ankles/knees. Oh, and a couple tanks to workout in and a new pair of workout/running pants.

Nice way to put it--I have silver too! Got it last December from the BF for Xmas, and at that time, no colors were available. (SO funny you said that..Pink is one of my favs, being a girly girl and all...) Going to try the Limewire idea...
