Inviting a cop into home???

if you let them in they can bust you for anything in plane sight ...they can not go looking around they can not even go into other rooms unless there is a reason ...
they can how ever look into all rooms to confirm that nobody else is home or ask any person in the home to come to the main room so they can keep an eye on them

cops are trained to see things, they are also trained to control any given situation that is why they would ask you to go to one room so they can watch there partners back

as stated above they can not go looking in the cabinets or closets ...they can look in them if the doors are open ( even partly open )

so keep things put away and keep the doors closed ...they have to ask you to open anything ...they can only look around and deal with what they where called out for

dont give them a reason to bust you and you wont have any problems

most of the time people get into trouble when they cant seem to STFU

why people insist on talking to cops ...shut up let them do there jobs
only answer there questions and never volunteer anything

Couple nights a go, I got victimized by some high tech phone abuse.

A computer called every 100 minutes or so and delivered extremely lenghty messages designed to mess with you. They had blank spaces and alternated between spanish and english. When you picked up the phone, it got disconnected. Started at 12:30 am and went to 9:00 am.

Clearly designed to disrupt sleep.

I called the police...I was pretty irritated.

They sent a bilingual lady out.

There was one thing that I found very interesting. She was extremely interested in looking at my possessions in a clinical manner. The phone calls were treated as "a mistake."

Think twice about letting a cop into your house. Thats the lesson I learned. She seemed more interested in finding something to bust me than in the high tech telephone abuse.
Was she a knockout?

Dude, once you invite them in, they pretty much can do what they want. It's like the vampire thing. NEVER NEVER invite them in.

Damn, you beat me to the vampire reference.

not sure why someone would want to invite a cop in their home, lol. (unless they were a friend or something)

so what happens if they find something when they werent supposed to be searching? can they still prosecute you for what they find?

Well, alls I remember is getting arrested the last time I did it lol, and a realative of mine who has been is a Seargent (sp?), and been a cop for like 22 years told me next time, tell them "Yes, as a matter of fact I would mind if you stepped in for a moment". Loooong story.

Maybe the laws are different in your neck of the woods, but thats how they roll in Detroit.

LOL ... The DPD at work I see. It was fun living in "Copper Valley" near Rough Park in the old days. LOL
