Hi, I just joined this site about an hour ago (while watching MMA). I'm fairly new to intense weight-lifting. Intense meaning it's my primary exercise now that I has to quit jitz and Muay Thai. I'm planning on starting Strong's 5x5 Monday as I've researched it and believe it's a good fit for me.
I lost #100 5 years ago and kept it off until I had to quit martial arts 4 months ago. Between then and now I've allowed myself to regain 25# and only recently have pulled myself out of the doldrums and joined a lifting gym. I've lost 7# so far.
I eat low carb, and have for years.
Oh, and I'm 51.
