Introduce yourself

Hi,

Been on the boards awhile but haven't posted before - 32 yrs old, 5'10, 227 lbs - have learned a ton through this site and others - but especially this one.

Started the MadCow2 Dual 5x5 - beginning the intensity phase on Monday - results are not clear at the present time but that is due to some ankle and arm injuries while doing the volume stage (injuries came from playing football (the 1x played all year) and basketball - nothing to do with the weight training). Definetly seen strength gains in everything except for my bench a this point.

Next posts will probably be on the Weight Training & Weight Lifting forum - nice to meet everyone.

27 Yrs old, 6'1" just under 240. 34% BFI

Never worked out seriously, couple attempts at crash diets, but wasn't able to stick to it. I've hooked up with a buddy of mine, fast94ex. We've started creating a diet using the information in that forum. I'm not looking to get absolutly huge or 2 % BF, just in better shape than I am now.

This site has an unbelievable amount of information on it.

hey

im 17 years old been lifting for about 2 years now, but only in the last year or so have i been serious about it.

i'm 5"11 and weigh 195. looking to gain both stregth and size. im not ripped but not fat at all.

i plan to become a police officer, and plan on going to college for 2 years then university for 2 years, comming out with a degree in criminology. i use this goal as a motivation in the gym, i know how hard it is to get into this area being a white male, and i think about that everytime i hit the gym. not only am i building physical strength but everytime i see gains and notice im getting stronger, i gain mental strength.

i love mountain biking, boxing, building computers, and goin to partys. I was never really big into organized sports even after being asked by coaches etc. and not joining my schools football team has been one of my major regrets, lots of memories i could have made, but wasted the time away. I'm in my last semester of high school so im looking to buff up and become mentally ready for the change to college.

this place really gives me something to relate to, not many of my friends talk about working out or experiences at the gym. im glad i found it.

Hello,

I am 6'1" and 230 lbs. I am not sure about my bf% at this time but I am sure it is in the high 20% range.

Right now... I am looking to everyone here to help me come up with routine..

Cardio - 7 days a week (x2)
Weights - Not sure.. I want to add lifting at least 5 days a week. I am not trying to get big but really gain some strength and look good. (50 mins max)

Goal: 180lbs & 15%BF in shape..

Any suggestion on a routine please reply..

I am not sure what the 5x5 is at this time but I am looking it up..

Thanks for any help..

D

23 yrs old, grad student, been lifting about 3 years seriously. was a distance runner for many years and stopped running my 2nd yr of college, decided id try to put on a few pounds and give lifting a try. it has been a great learning experience and would like to get into the exercise phys. field even though my degrees will have nothing to do with it!

Hi. Erik B, 18 years old, last year of high school.
Live in Brazil

1.78metres tall, 78kg
BF @ around 9-11%

What's up elite fitness, I'm a pseudo powerlifter, I like long walks on the beach, puppies, back rubs, getting punched in the face and swinging kettlebells.

I dislike guys who hate gear or "new gear" in powerlifting but at least they argue with me, I like bands, chains and cuttin muffins in the gym.

I am 26 6'4" about 225. I have been working out seriously for about a year and half. I used to weigh 323 but droped about 100 lbs durring my junior and senior years of college just by walking to class. How ever since I dropped the weigt not much else has fallen off. I am just looking to lower my body fat and increas muscle, I would like to be about 215 with 12-15% BF. Any sudgestions are welcome.

Hey everyone

I'm 24, 176lbs 6' 1"

I've been working out off and on for the past 5 years, but have only been strict and serious for the past 12 months or so.

I've always concentrated more on cutting fat and doing circuit training. I've only just recently gotten to the point where I feel like I can gain weight.

Hello, my name is Kyle. I'm years old and I go to college. I have been interested in building muscle ever since I was a young boy. I started power lifting in grade 11 and got my bench up to 175 for 3 reps.( 130lbs and I was pretty small) I did the powerlifting for 4 months and I learned alot of about working out. I stopped working out for about 9 months, and started to get"ripped" crazy diet and crazy cardio. I also did this for 4 months and got very ripped(hence my avatar). I took yet another 9 months off, starting at ground zero and have been bulking for 6 months now, I have gained 40 lbs and my lifts have increased dramatically. My goal in life is to win the Mr.Olympia.

Hi, I just recently got back into working out and staying healthy. I have been off and on through highschool, but now im set on having a steady change of lifestyle.

I recently got a membership at my local gym and been going about everyday. I think once I get into the routine of things it will definetly improve my life.

This seems like the best forum site to start reading and learning about fitness and staying in shape.
Looking forward to reading your thoughts.
Thanks! :)

Whats crappenin everyone,
I am 24 yo and have 6 credits to get ba degree in business Management. I play guitar and write songs also. I love fly fishing and spend most of my free time doing so.

I have lifted for the last 9 years. I am 5'8" amd 230 due to a dirty bulking phase has left me my fattest ever at 19% bf. It was worth it, and have haad good gains in strength. I usually cut in the spring, eating clean foods smaller meals maore frequently. I usually get around 10% and hit a plateau and just maintain for the summer. Now thanks to you guys I plan on using your advice. Thanks to all you guys for your insight. I cant wait to try the HIIT cardio, and all the suggestions on nutrient ratios. Oh, and for the new supps at the AF store. It has deffinately given me motivation to start cutting for summer.

I have been obesessed with body building most of the time. I have surfed the net countless hours searching for ideas and have read most of the BB magazines. Now this discussion board is not good for my studies.

I love my triceps they are very strong. I have done skull creushers with 45's and and 2 tens on each side. I love to train them, so if you guys wunna talk triceps drop me a line. My arms are 19.5" but my biceps are not propoertional. They dont like me. I have benched 430 a a few years ago but now use incline to bring up the upper chest. In highschool I squatted 550 but stopped due to back pains. My legs are pretty muscular as well. I love to talk training so get a hold of me. I have a couple of posts in the training forum that nobody has responded to yet :(. So thank you all for adding this new dimention to my training goals.

hi everybody... i'm new here... 17 years old... used to have 34.3% bf 2 years ago... now i'm only 17%... natural weightlifter... doing mark rippeto'es 3x5 / 1x5 training routine for beginners... max bench is 80 kgs for 1 rep, max squat is 90 kgs for 1 rep and max deadlift is 120 kgs for 1 rep.. this does not include weight of barbell... and these lifts are RAW..

i'm here to learn and to help those who seek it with my limited knowledge...

see u around.. :)

Hi all. My name's Kevin. I'm 29 and live in Texas.

I graduated from college in 1998 with a degree in business and am currently struggling to undo eight years of damage that the desk job, business dinners, airplane food, marriage, kids, and especially laziness have done to my body. I do have a background in sports and even lifting but haven't seriously put my mind to it since college.

My goals are to increase my health and general athletic ability, to drop my BF% to below 10, and to increase my strength. Specific strength goals I have are to squat and deadlift 350+ pounds and to bench 275+.

Stats as of 3/17/06 are:

Age 29
Height 6'1"
Weight 225
BF 25% (guessing)

I joined EF because the bros here are willing to speak candidly about what really really works and what really doesn't, and everyone seems to have results in mind as their number one priority. I find that standard admirable and hope to live up to it myself by being a productive contributor to the community.

Live in NJ - 30 yrs old - 229 - 6ft 1inch, medium build - live by the beach about 7 blocks away- play football and volleyball a lot - bike and just started running very recently - Disc Jockey on the side for fun, so end up going out more than most. - Married 7 yrs - happily - Have 2 kids: 3 month old girl, and 3yr old boy. Stay very very busy.... :artist:

I'm a 21-year-old college junior. I'm majoring in Criminal Justice and hope to go on to Law School. I've been dating the same girl for almost a year now and plan on marrying her.
I've been lifting for four years now and I'm totally addicted. I'd lift 2 hours/day if it wouldn't take me in the wrong direction! I used to be pretty fat in high school (no super obese, but I was definately fat) and so I've really made a HUGE transformation in these past four years. I feel like I'm pretty knowledgable and I enjoy learning and talking about training/nutrition/supps.

My stats:
height - 6'5
weight - 270
BF - 21.3%
arms - 16.5"
chest - 48"
legs - 27"

My goals (within the next year and a half or so):
52" chest
20" arms
30" legs
36-38" waist

Hi everyone,

I'm a 23 year old beginner lifter from Turkey. I'm lifting for close to 5 months now. I'm 1.75 cm tall (5'9) at 75 kg (165 lbs). Don't know my bf ratio but I definitely have some to lose. I've been reading this board for some time now and learned much from it. Hope to learn and help a whole lot more.

I have been around this board for a while, but I just started to post a little bit more. I have a nice cushy job as a moderator on anabolicfitness.net and don't get out much.

I am 33, have been training since I was 14. All of them have been as a bodybuilder except for the last 2 as a powerlifter. I belong to midwestmuscle.org powerlifting team.

I am a short, bald, fat bastard now and happy about it.

Im a college freshman. Im 5'11" 175lbs. 4% bf. I play baseball and want to pursue it as a career. Ive been lifting heavy for the past 8 monthes and have had tremendous success. Putting on a bout 30 pounds and no body fat. I have two rods fused to my spine because of an extreme case of scoliosis. Because of this i cannot do deadlifts or squats which really sucks. Thats about it.

Peace

I'm a 26-year-old chica working as a ops supervisor in the mortgage industry. Fighting secretary spread! Drifting over here from the women's forum.

Joined a gym four years ago to lose weight. Dropped my initial 50 lbs and I'm looking to continue the transformation and build more muscle. Goal #1 is re-vamping my training schedule and carb cycling ...... to be lean and mean for my vacation (cruising out of new york on may 28th).

When it comes to diet and supps- I feel pretty knowledgable and I need to learn more about the training/lifting side of things. I just began training training w/a local all-natural body builder. We've had four sessions so far......

I have been on the board for a while, I generally stay over in the woman's forum for the most part, though sometimes venture out occasionally. I was a competitive figure skater for 12 years and have been very active my whole life.

I am a 26 year old female who currently works in the operations department at a base in Iraq. ;)

I just started carb cycling almost a month ago...still working with the cycles, trying to figure out what works best for me. My goal is to "cut" and hopefully achieve 9-10% bf before leaving Iraq - which is quit difficult giving my food choices here.

Hi. My name is Sassy69 and I'm a liftaholic.

LOL! Actually I've been on EF since the beginning of time or nearly that long ago. Started pushing weights at the age of 16 in 1981 in the ancient weight room at our local YMCA waiting for my dad to meet me for our once weekly racquetball challenge. Discovered I could easily push 100 lb on the old Universal machine leg press. And it just went from there. Back in the day you never saw girls lift weight - only do cardio or Jane Fonda.

Hired my first real trainer in 1991 and discovered that yes, girls can develop biceps :) Didnt' do a real BB show until I was 35 and did one last yr at age 40. Tentatively have 2 planned in July, the first on the day I turn 41...

Currently 160-ish, not sure BF, show in 9 weeks. Hoping to compete at around 140 lb, 6-7%. Then hope even more to maintain at around 145 lb, 12-14% and dump some of the mass and just be a normal person :)

Hi yeah, me too. Be careful though- if I were Sass, I'd throw a dumbbell at your head.... :)

Or at least beat you with my walker. ;)

Here's one thing tho - BB is one sport where muscle maturity actually has value :)

Thanks man, that's really very kind ... & much appreciated. Never be afraid give props where props are do ... I almost made a grown man cry at my gym, actually on more than one occasion, just by opening my mouth & saying "Keep up the awesome work, it shows..."

There is much to learn here ... Best of luck & these guys are great :) Just be sure to do your research as well .. you HAVE to start somewhere right? ... :wavey:

im 200lbs @ 14% bf i have pds of

squat- 530lbs
bench- 330lbs
dead- 490llbs
clean- 270 lbs
jerker- 220lbs

they are this years lift they have been higher when i was heavier but i have decided to get leaner and still with the strnegth training. my routine changes every 4 weeks or so saved sme from egtting to bored but i will be squatting, deadlifting, bench (variety), clean and jerking atg least every 10 days or so.

aims are to get to sub 10% bf @ 180lbs k i will be skinny but hey i will look good. strnegth has to stop and take a back seat due a to arotten shoulder- 3 disolcations in 5 years and pins and needles downs the arm too. but hey i love to lift and so that doesnt even stop me.
